Excellent private hotel with fantastic cuisine

Very pleasant family hotel with excellent service and fantastic cuisine. Daily five course menu can compete for michelin star. All services are on top level. Can be recommended to everybody who likes friendly atmosphere and excellent food. Its wine cellar is also on very very good level

Very pleasant stay

I booked 1 night at this nice bad & breakfast. I was with my wife and our child aged 14 months. As it was St Valentine we were offered a bottle of Champaign and some cookies. The house was very nice and the room very clear and comfortable. Very nice bathroom. The owners were very friendly. We had dinner in a nice restaurant just around the corner. Breakfast in the morning was very good with excellent croissants, fresh orange juice, brand and home made jam. The owner of the B&B even cleaned our car from the snow! We ere extremely satisfied of our stay and we enjoyed it very much.

Main disadvantages: NONE

Main advantages: It is close to the highway and to the city centre.

Wonderful holiday in the Bush!!

We have had a great holiday at Matumi in December, 2011. We have seen 4 of the Big 5 in 3 hours and we enjoyed an ice cold beer watching the sun set. We had an amazing day in Kruger Park with Pieter. The kids will never forget the elephant that charged us. The Kids loved Matumi the Warthog. The kids loved the huge swimming pool. The rooms are very neat and very african style. The kids loved it. The restaurant had the best steak I have had in South Africa. This was the best family vacation ever. Pieter and Alida keep up the great work. Your a great team. See you next year.

Main advantages: 27Km from Kruger National Park. In a private game reserve. The Elephant and Lions come right next to the fence. You must request for a dinner in the boma. It was amazing to hear the lions at night while having dinner.

Pension Wieser - House of Terror

I went to Altenmarkt to spend relaxed holiday in Austrian Alps with my collegues. It was more than 50 of us, so some of us stayed in pension Hammerschmiede that is great and run by very nice people. Unfortunately some of us had to stay in pension Wieser and we will never make this mistake again. It's a pension owned by family Wieser that hates young people...we had to stay in horrible rooms in a cellar (me and my 2 friends we had a tiny room with bathroom and toilet in a hall, 7 of our collegues had to stay in a 7-bed room with shower that had no door and was open facing the room, so don't expect privacy much privacy there.). We had to be in a dinning room at 6.30 sharp for dinner otherwise we would hear 10 minutes lecture on how Czech and Austrian watch show the same time and when someone says 6.30 so it means 6.30 and not a minute later. Frau Wieser had no respect for privacy and went to our room to take pictures of our alcohol and threatened us that she will call police on us (no idea what would be the reason by the way, because we spent all our evenings in pension Hammerschmiede with our other collegues and didn't make any noise or mess in pension Wieser). She accused our friend that she vomitted on her bed and she kept showing us a bed sheet as an evidence that was completely clean, though, so there would be no vomit or anything else. But worst was our last night there. When we were having dinner, she came to the dining room and started to tell us something in German we pretended that we don't understand and started to talk Czech to her, she got angry and...she went to the cellar, came back and brought bucket with water and the bed sheet and some rug and threw it at our friend. Everything was wet...our friend, the dinner, chairs and the lady kept shouting at us that we are drunks (we didn't drink any alcohol in that building!), that we're from Eastern block, communists, that we're dirty, we stink, that she's gonna have to desinfy the whole pension when we leave and that we don't pay enough for our accommodation (40 EUR/night for horrible rooms in a cellar and terrorising land lady that ruined our holiday). Long story short Frau Wieser is the meanest person I've ever met and I don't understand how such a person can run a pension. Do not ever go there unless you want to have really stressfull holiday. Go to pension Hammerschmiede. It's run by very nice Frau Schmidt!

Main disadvantages: Too many, everything is said in a review.

Main advantages: You will learn German, because frau Weiser shouts at you a lot in German and that somehow makes that you start to understand the language. Stay in pension Wieser will give you a lesson in assertiveness and self-control. It also tought us to be punctual as we had to be in the dining room for our dinner 6.30 sharp.

Alltid MYCKET bra

Favorithotellet i Rudesheim, övernattat här 6-7 resor 3-4 dygn varje gång. Alltid till full belåtenhet. Har bott på andra hotell i närheten men detta hotell är i våra ögon helt klart bäst. Bra frukost 30 meter från Drosselgasse. 30 meter från Rehn. Bra ljudisolerat. Varit här i både affärer och fritid. Alltid lika bra.

Main disadvantages: Trångt på parkeringen, men det kan inte ordnas med detta centrala läge.

Main advantages: Bra läge, bra frukost, bra rum, mycket trevlig hjälpsam personal. Nästan alltid tomt i poolrummet.

The worst experience of my life

The best thing to say about this place is that I managed to survive the stay! My boyfriend and I (both very frequent travellers) stayed in this hotel in January 2012. The first disaster occured when the hotel only had registered 1 night stay despite the fact that we had clearly made a reservation for 2 nights. This resulted in the owner calling us all day long (and obviously ruining it) to convince us to help him out. Since all hotels in Valle were fully booked, he offered us his own (very small) room for free. We reluctantly agreed to this. The second disaster happened during the night and nearly cost us our lives. Since winter in Valle can be very cold, all rooms are equipped with small fireplaces. Like we had done the night before, we lit the fireplace in our new room before going to bed. One hour later I luckily woke up, and the hole room was completely hot and full of smoke. It turns out that the chimney wasn't working - and we had never been informed about this. Smoke came out everywhere, from windows, doors and under the roof. It ended up in a complete disaster as my boyfriend tried to extinguish the fire, only to discover that the fire extinguisher was not working. At this time the roof started to burn, but there was no help whatsoever from the hotel staff - they wouldn't even call emergency! After quenching the fire with water bottles, we left the hotel at 4 in the morning, covered in water and smoke. I can surely say that I will never step near this horrible, disorganized and dangerous place again.

Main disadvantages: Brak możliwości płacenia kartą. Brudno w miejscach gdzie odbywają się zabiegi, basen MASAKRA, grzyb, rdza!! Niestety drugiej nocy w "bawialni" należącej do hotelu zorganizowano imprezę. Bardzo głośna muzyka, krzyki, skakanie po stołach. Pech chciał, że to właśnie mój pokój był nad tym miejscem, gdzie wszystko się działo. Nie spaliśmy do trzeciej w nocy, w stroju nocnym latałam do recepcji zwracać uwagę, niestety nikt nie reagował na to, że połowa gości nie może spać. Rano zostaliśmy poinformowani, że był "kongres" dlatego tak było. Brak szacunku do gości!!! Hotel ma cztery gwiazdki, nie można w nim wypocząć.
