The Fontana Park Hotel is located in the heart of Lisbon, next to the Saldanha square, one of the main business centres of Lisbon. Situated in one of the seven hills of the city, the hotel enjoys a privileged view over the park and the old city. The hotel is about ten minutes away from Lisbon International Airport, ten minutes from major attractions (museums, zoo, palaces, castle, historical sites, etc), business venues (two congress centres) and 25km away from Estoril, Cascais and Sintra, a region famous for its luxurious landscape, palaces, restaurants and golf courses (up to twenty top golf courses within the immediate vicinity), and miles of fine sandy beaches and many ocean sport activities.

Travel information

By Car (from the International Airport):
- Take General Norton de Matos Avenue in the direction of the city centre.
- Turn right onto Campo Grande and follow República Avenue until Saldanha Square.
- Drive straight ahead on Fontes Pereira de Melo Avenue.
- Turn right on the 1st street and then turn left on the 1st street to take Tomás Ribeiro Street until Praça José Fontana.

From the South:
- Take the A2 in the direction of Lisbon.
- Follow directions for 25 de Abril bridge and then Marquês de Pombal Square, Duarte Pacheco Viaduct on Marquês de Pombal Square, andMarquês de Pombal Square roundabout.
- Follow Fontes Pereira de Melo Avenue directions and turn right to take Tomás Ribeiro Street until José Fontana Square.

From the North:
- Take the A2 towards Lisbon.
- Take the General Norton de Matos Avenue in the direction of the city centre.
- Follow directions from the International Airport.

From Cascais:
- Take the A5 towards Lisbon.
- Next take Duarte Pacheco Viaduct on Marquês de Pombal Square direction and then Marquês de Pombal Square roundabout.
- Follow Fontes Pereira de Melo Avenue and turn right to take Tomás Ribeiro Street until José Fontana Square.

Main disadvantages: 'Didn't like' is too strong a term, but being slightly visually impaired I found the bathroom a little confusing at first, E.G. how to empty the wash-basin and regulate the water in the shower. But these minor difficulties were soon overcome. I would have liked a little more information about the spa services - even though I probablyh would not have had time to avail myself of them.

Main advantages: From the first moment of arrival I was made feel welcome and treated with efficient, unobtrusive courtesy. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. This was particularly so in the case of the staff at reception. The general atmosphere of the hotel was very appealing, particularly the absence of any fussiness both in the decor but, important too, in the attention of the staff.

Main disadvantages: Too much black. It's ok in the reception, but the corridors and rooms are a bit grim. It's ok for short stay, but for longer than a week, it might be too dark. This is a personal preference, it might be excellent for different taste.

Main advantages: A modern hotel with a wow factor at the ground floor reception. Hotel restaurant was excellent (we had dinner in the evening), big breakfast buffet in the morning. Overall very pleasant stay,

Main disadvantages: Regarding the room, they prefer that all is design and leave the practical aspect behind. For example, we had problems with water in the room when taking a shower and they said that all rooms are the same, but the shower is very design!! Very nice people though and nice hotel but as already mentioned, practical details are missing.

Main advantages: Nice staff and situated very good, close to the metro and not far from the airport, sunday morning at 7 it took us 8 minutes to get to the airport with a taxi.

Main disadvantages: Its a "Design" hotel which sadly means that looks and appearance is put ahead of functionality! E.G. the beautiful looking shower floods the bathroom floor! Music throughout the hotel is far too loud.

Main advantages: Good value for money, clean, helpful staff.

Main advantages: This was my second time staying at Fontana Park and returned because of the excellent customer service. The staff were amazing in every respect, from the young man serving drinks in the bar, to the lovely ladies at the front desk, to the friendly housekeeping staff. The food at the restaurant was delicious and again the service was impeccable.

Main disadvantages: Breakfast was ok, but a bit caotic (on weekends time should be extended, otherwise everybody goes on limit (at 10am) and food/drinks is not enough and/or are not properly prepared (a 4star hotel should consider all these points). Bathroom is totally focused on design and not focused on practical aspects nor cosyness at all - even being a design hotel, we considered too much Overall we enjoyed our stay (corresponds to a basic 4 star, enhanced by the original desin)

Main advantages: Design was nice, although sometimes too much black, even considering the proposed design concept bed was very confortable

Main advantages: The hotel is quite unconventional in design - using alot of glass, dark woods and concrete. However, it is done in an excellent fashion. The rooms are very comfortable, clean, spacious and quiet. Breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold options. The staff are also excellent! We enjoyed our stay in the Fontana Park.

Main disadvantages: Nothing. However they charged 5 euro for an hour wifi, and it was only in the lobby. For a modern design hotel this didn't fit the bill. However, a minor detail.

Main advantages: Very clean and helpfull staff. Very nice design. You felt great living there and the hotel was good value for the money. however, we had a discount rate as we booked rather late.
