Featuring 6 outdoor pools and a 9-hole golf course, this resort is just 500 metres from Maria Luisa Beach. A gym with professional instructors and 2 restaurants are available. Balaia Golf Village health club includes a hot tub, Turkish bath and a heated indoor pool. Massage treatments, and aromatherapy and hydrotherapy sessions can be scheduled. All apartments include a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table and a seating area with sofas. A balcony overlooking the gardens or pools are available to each apartment. Guests can play a game on Balaia’s 4 tennis courts, or rent a bicycle to explore the Albufeira District. Younger guests can enjoy the activities of the kids club, or the playground. International cuisine is served at the main restaurant. The golf club restaurant and the 2 poolside bars offer light fare and snacks. Main advantages: Very well maintained grounds with excellent pool and golf facilities. The accommodation was spacious and very clean and well equipped. The location was really good with easy access to shops and restaurants. The staff were all extremely friendly especially in the gym and reception area.

Main disadvantages: The bedroom smelled of cat urine - mostly my bed. I would have been glad to go for a late-night swim, but swimming wasn't allowed after (I think) 8 P.M.

Main advantages: At the beginning of October, we paid €39.10 - which was excellent value. There was a lot of space and facilities and it would be a good place for a long stay and self-catering (though we only stayed for 2 days).

Main disadvantages: It was a good walk from the old and new town. You definitely would not walk to the old town and taxis can be difficult to get from reception on occasion but not the complexes fault by any means

Main advantages: Firstly our apartment had everything we could need, iron, hairdryer even an adapter and was absolutely beautiful! The staff were extremely helpful and it was an ideal resort for a couple. We had problems getting taxis a few of the nights to the old/new town but max wait was 30mins. Otter than taxis there was a lot of walking so you would need them in that heat! All in all highly recommended and will definitely stay here again! Thanks!!

Main disadvantages: The only thing I could comment on was the main restaurant beside reception, I did not find eating there pleasant and did not feel they catered for children. In addition on one night we paid €18 per person for a buffet (sunday evenings) the food was nice if a bit bland but as we had already fed our kids in our apartment we were happy to let them play as we ate, the frsutrating thing was the restaurant staff hovering around our table expecting us to feed our kids and avoid the €9 charge per child! Like I said at start this was the only negative critisism I could make a comment on.

Main advantages: It is a very spacious and relaxing holiday village with plenty of pools and a kids area for young kids. All round very nice friendly plce for young families. Reception staff very nice and helpful, on arrival they moved us to a place closer to playground and kids pool which was great for our family.

Main disadvantages: The onsite restaurant is fairly limited and pricey, with little in the way of entertainment. The reception staff could be a bit friendlier. There is fairly little to do within walking distance, but Taxis come within 5 mins and take you in to town for 5 Euros (except on Saturday nights when they take an hour to come)

Main advantages: The pools and snack bars are great, and the landscaped gardens are kept immaculately. Everywhere is very clean, and the apartments are quite large and comfortable.
