| Main disadvantages: Bed was very soft and the rooms we had were not air-conditioned, but these issues were expected and did not affect our experience. |
| Main advantages: Grand building (and therefore no steep steps) and a lift located in the heart of Amsterdam between the centraal station and the leidseplien, just north of Rembrandtplien, a great location. |

| Main disadvantages: Coffee shop/breakfast availability was not great due to holiday scheudle. I would think that a tourist hotel would have availability for all travellers. Travellers arent' always operating on the same time clock as locals. |

| Main disadvantages: During our 2 nights stay, we were woken at 8.45am on both mornings to the road works being carried out right outside the hotel. It was that bad that the room trembled and we were 5 floors up. If you were on business and had to be out of the hotel for work, no probs, but we were their on a special romantic break and it put a real damper on the hotel. If we had been informed via email or phone call, as it became apparent that the staff knew 3 weeks earlier of this disruption, then we would have booked another hotel. |

| Main disadvantages: First room was a bit dusty, but the friendly receptionist gave us another one very quickly (work was done on the street where the hotel is, which would explain the dust). A very pleasant stay after that. |

| Main disadvantages: our room overlooked the canal and the street on the other side. Amsterdam is a late-night city and we could hear much of it. |

| Main advantages: We stayed at the hotel only for one night within our scheduledue and regreted much that we could not stay at least one night more. When we visited Amsterdam first time we payed attention to this charming aristocratic building and its marvelous location - so romantic and so central at the same time. Our room faced the chanel and though it was a standard double room it was so big and well desighned, neat, comfortable and friendly. We usually sleep with open windows and it turns out to be a problem to find a hotel which is good and quite at the same time - NH Doelen meets our expectations. We would also like to thank the Reception staff for their attention and assistance. |

| Main advantages: The building itself, a real monument of late 19th century -early 20th century architecture. We had a spacious room with a very nice view of one of the canals. The service is cordial and efficient. Recomended! |

| Main disadvantages: The lift sometimes didn't work or was very slow. There were noisy deliveries early in the morning (for rooms not on the canal side). The foyer wifi needed a code each time you use, which is not as good as a single code for the stay, but at least worked well. The desk was quite small. |
| Main advantages: The location is excellent, particularly for the University buildings. Nice old building with lots of character and impressive entrance foyer/staircase. Good choice of tv channels in the room (for UK viewers). Liked the shower gel (smelled like bubble gum or something similar), and a kettle with tea/coffee is included in the rooms (refreshed each day). There was a fridge in the room. The maps that we were given were very good, and made a big difference for finding our way around the city. |

| Main disadvantages: as all the hotels in amsterdam there are no airconditioners! it was too hot in july for just a small fan and the only lift there is, is way way too slow! |

| Main disadvantages: It was very hot all the 10 days of my visit and there was no air-conditioning in the hotel. When the window was open the street noise disturbed. At 19 euro the breakfast appeared to be expensive. |

| Main disadvantages: Expensive (19 Euros) breakfast and don't put your own chocolate in the imini bar: the cleaner throws it away! |
| Main advantages: Old world Dutch charm, this hotel has one of the best locations in Amsterdam overlooking the canals and its main facade is magnificently illuminated at night. |
