Main advantages: Nh Barbizon Palace was an excellent hotel in a fantastic location. On arrival we were offered a free upgrade to an appartment from a room. The apartment was spacious, clean and in a brilliant location for exploring the city. The staff were friendly and helpful and catered for any request. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Amsterdam.

Main disadvantages: My room was in the back of the hotel facing a street with several bars. During all night there was too noisy and I hardly could sleep before 6am The sound isolation of the room is bad. I really suggest to everyone that comes to this hotel to ask an interior room instead of a room with street view.

Main advantages: The Location is excellent, just close to the central station and to all kind of public transports like tram, boat.

Main disadvantages: The hotel has a very nice entrance. However I was disappointed in the hotel room. The fittings are rather old as is the furniture - these need to be refurbished. However the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom large and spacey. Internet in the rooms was way too expensive. However, one may use the free wi-fi in the lobby.

Main advantages: The hotel was right across from Amsterdam Central train station. Perfect to catch a train to anywhere in Holland and only 15 minutes to the airport. The hotel is also within walking distance to the city centre - ideal for shopping and sightseeing. The hotel room is large and has lots of space. Breakfast is good though pricey at 25Euros.

Main disadvantages: I am not sure how well the heating system is working, but it was ok.

Main advantages: It was the first time I stayed in a 5 star hotel so I cannot compare it with other 5 star hotels. I went there for a conference and I enjoyed my staying. The room was nice, with natural light, the corridors are wide. The conference facilities are good.

Main disadvantages: The breakfast on offer was 25 euros, discounted to 21,50euros. Scandalous price - even the staff looked embarrassed! We went to a little coffee shop next door, where there was an amazing all you can eat breakfast buffet for 9.50 euros.

Main advantages: Excellent location, spacious rooms, well decorated and very well equipped. The bar and lounge area was especially comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful

Main advantages: It was very central to all the shops restaurants and right across the rood from central station. We where lucky enough to get a fantasic view of the city which was a bonus.The staff are very friendly and the rooms where very clean. Breakfasts are very expensive though so we never ate in the hotel.

Main advantages: Very well located. I was suprised that there was no possibility of refreshing the room at all, no ventilation. The first night, I found the air in the room a little bit unhealthy, clearly needing some fresh air. Not sure how hotels works when there is no windows. It is esential to keep fresh air in the room or air becomes vicious and sufocating. I found the light in the room insufficient. Further than that I found every thing good.
