Main disadvantages: There was an unpleasant smell in the bathroom(room 325),it wasn't
overpowering,but it was there none the less.We only stayed for one
night(new years eve) so it wasn't a big deal as we weren't in the room
much. I informed the hotel staff who very helpful and professional and
they told me they would look into it straight away. I would definitely
stay here again as I only see this as a minor problem that was addressed
immediately. Location was excellent as were the staff.

Main disadvantages: - Staff was not always polite!! Wifi in lobby was horrific, if you want
to give it for free then make it really free, don't ask us to enter a
stupid password every 30 minutes, a password which doesn't always
work. You either offer or don't offer wifi, but this was somewhere in
the middle and a total nightmare.

Main disadvantages: Food and drink available at the hotel was very expensive although locally there were plenty of reasonable bars and restaurants. First night we ate at the italian restaurant in the hotel and first impressions were good as it had received many awards but we had to wait over an hour for service and our meal even though it was nearly empty and food was not the quality expected. We ate at a cheap local Italian the next evening that was excellent.
Main advantages: We travelled with my one year old son and the hotel were child friendly which was great considering a lot of hotels in Amsterdam do not allow under 16's. Nice touch was my son was given his own pack of hotel baby toiletries! Location was also excellent and near to parking (very expensive) but made meeting with my husband who drove to pick us up very easy!

Main disadvantages: The reception area is a mess. It is crowded, you have to wait just to
check in or check out. The people who make excursion or restaurant
reservations also occupy the receptionists, so you have to wait just to
check out. I think the reception staff is not enough to cover that much
work load.

attractions in 10-15 minutes. Shopping and culinary district is very
close. The pricing is also reasonable.

Main advantages: The hotel is very comfortable, clean, and more upscale than most in the area. Staff is very friendly and helpful offering a VERy easy to read city map. Never ate at the restaurants b/c we were out most of our stay but they looked very nice. It is in a FABULOUS location across from the Leidse Plein with many restaurants, shops, and coffeeshops. It is also a short distance from Anne Frank House, Dam Square, Rijks Museum, and Red Light District. Amsterdam is a compact city so you can walk most places. We were so pleased with the room and the price but mostly that we had so much, so close by. Will return when I return to Amsterdam!

Main disadvantages: Very very expensive breakfast. There are lots of other breakfast options on a square next to the hotel. They don´t have free wireless internet or shuttle to the airport (many hotels in Amsterdam offer this service).
