Main disadvantages: The only issue we had with this hotel was that the doors to the other
rooms would slam when shut closed. This noise is easily heard & woke us
up a few times.
Main advantages: Great modern & clean hotel in a neat, traditional Amsterdam style
building in a quiet part of town. Each staff member we dealt with was
fantastic; super friendly & helpful, no problem checking us in early &
offered us a free upgrade. Beds are super comfty & the rooms are clean &
modern & offer a warm atmosphere. We were disappointed to have to stay
at the nh around the corner (which was more expensive & way less nice)
when we returned to Amsterdam a few weeks later. On the map it appears
that Vondel is a bit out of the center of town (& it kinda is) however,
it is entirely worth it to stay here & is still easily walkable to
everything you'd want to see. I highly, highly recommend Hotel Vondel.

Main disadvantages: Our room was super small, and stuffed with furniture. We stayed in the
smallest room, and wish we were given a chance to upgrade. The black
curtains (altho they were good for sleeping in), black carpet and dark
furniture was a bit much. Also, shower was really small.
Main advantages: Rooms were modern, and non-smoking and the stay was very quiet. The
location was just perfect, walking distance to the pc hooftstraat and
Leidseplein.

Main disadvantages: Heater didn't work at all which is really bad in a place like Amsterdam.
Fortunately it wasn't as cold as the city normally is. Internet service
is expensive (10 euro/24 hours).
Main advantages: Amazing location. Near the tram station, restaurants, pubs and etc. The
room is good but a bit smaller, shower is really good. The price is good
for Amsterdam.

Main advantages: Classy little hotel situated in a great spot of Amsterdam across the
street from the trendy offices of Tommy Hilfiger et al. Close to the
museums and shops but far away from the scummy parts of the city.

Main advantages: Was not sure whether to book after a few iffy reviews but am glad we
did. Vondel is a lovely little boutique hotel, great decor and the staff
were pleasant, well mannered and helpful. The location is good, away
from the main hustle and bustle, a tranquil oasis among other hotels.
The location was key to us as we were keen to be away from Brit lads
abroad who come to Dam for stags and other obvious reasons, no offense
but we wanted a romantic city break away from the kids and noise. Our
room was adequate in size and extremely comfortable, the whirlpool bath
was a bonus after trudging the streets in the cold and rain. We did not
eat at the hotel but the food looked good (if a bit pricey for what it
was). All in all we would recommend the hotel and would be keen to
return during the summer to take advantage of the garden and local
Vondel Park.

Main disadvantages: They need a full length mirror in the rooms.
Main advantages: The location is on a beautiful quiet street but close to everything like
museums,restaurants, and transportation. The restaurant downstairs was
very conveinant for food coffee or drinks anytime. Our room was cleaned
daily and we were never inconveinanced. Bathrooms were nice and updated.

Main advantages: This is a great little hotel! The location was perfect - just 200 meters
from Leidsplein but its on a very quiet street away from the bustle.
This boutique hotel is very cute and has funky cool decor in the lobby
and restaurant / bar. This is a great hotel for someone who is looking
for a very clean and small / simple room to return to after a long days
and nights exploring and doesn't need a 4 or 5 start hotel just to
sleep...but that still wants to stay in a comfortable nice hotel. The
staff was super friendly and they had some great services - my two
favorite being bike rental on site and the best was 10 Euros per hour
for late check out. So if you're not ready to go right at noon, or if
you have a flight later in the day you can pay a little extra and keep
the room. As a very frequent traveler this is a great service to see
offered by a hotel!

Main disadvantages: If you don't pick one of the executive rooms, you may feel suffocated by
the limited space. Some of the stuff was super friendly and helpfull,
some were not so nice. In addition for that super high price there are
no extra facilities like gym, internet is not for free (a bit middle age
for a boutique hotel). And although it is a clean hotel, remember that
we are talking about an old renovated building, so... I hope you are not
scared of mice.
Main advantages: A nice boutique hotel with amazing Executive rooms. The bathroom is
spacious, the bedroom super cozy. The restaurant shares the same level
of stylish design. Next to Vondel park, Van Gogh museum, Leidseplein
place and a two shopping districts.

Main disadvantages: The breakfast is very expensive and not varied. I had asked to a quiet
room, as I stayed 10 days, and it did not happen.
Main advantages: Vondel hotel is clean, beautiful, in a quiet stret but near most of the
atractions that you should see in amsterdam. You can walk to museums,
vondelpark, restaurants

Main disadvantages: Very small room, even by Amsterdam standards. Room was also very noisy, likely due to location directly above kitchen and bar area. Workmen started noisy work around property very early in the morning, even on weekends. Front desk was understaffed, at times, leading to long waits for assistance.
Main advantages: Great, central location within easy walking distance of all major tourist attractions and nightlife. Bright, modern and clean room and bathroom.
