| Main disadvantages: It was bloody cold outside! |
| Main advantages: Would not have come if had read the reviews of the hotel. The hotel is
central - the room was clean and yes small. No bed bugs. The bar staff
were very helpful. The member of staff that the people the reviewers are
complaining about - she isn't rude - it is the Dutch way of
conversation. Get over it! Will come again. |

Grainne Waterford, Ireland - Business trip |

|
| Main disadvantages: You had to share a toilet and shower, which some people mightn't like. I
didn't mind, as both were just outside the door of the room, and I never
met anyone else using them. And they were spotlessly clean. The "free"
breakfast was two fried eggs and a strip of streaky bacon - a bit
greasy, and after the first morning I just had the toast and butter and
jam. But for the price, those are small issues. |
| Main advantages: It was right in the middle of the Red Light district, but it wasn't
tacky or cheap. Downstairs is an old fashioned pub and the rooms are
over the pub. Our room looked out on a courtyard, and was very quiet,
and comfortable if basic. The staff were very friendly and the rooms
were spotless. |

| Main disadvantages: I really liked my stay except for the bed bugs. I thought maybe the
reports were unfair or untrue, but sure enough, the day after I left I
noticed many minor bites on my legs, chest and arms. |
| Main advantages: The staff was very receptive. The complimentary breakfast was adequate
-eggs, bacon, lots of toast, pot of coffee or tea. The hotel is very
well located making it within walking distance of most major
attractions. |

Anna Winchester, United Kingdom - Business trip |

|
| Main advantages: There appear to be quite a few unfair reviews of Old Quarter on
Booking.com - As long as you do not expect luxury accommodation, it is
awesome value for money. And there is no reason to have a mistaken
impression of the hotel, it is one of the cheapest hotels in the very
centre of the city so therefore you should know you are not going to be
staying in a five star monstrosity. The rooms are above a gorgeous
little pub that provides a fast and cheerful breakfast service every
morning. Yes - as per other reviews the walls are a little thin,
especially if you have loud and obnoxious people on your floor, but
knowing that in advance means you can think ahead and take some earplugs
which work brilliantly. Yes the free wifi has limited coverage
throughout parts of the hotel, but it is free wifi in a really cheap
hotel - what more can you ask for? Fresh towels are supplied every day
and room was perfectly clean. The hotel part above the pub is secure and
the reception is manned 24 hours a day. If you want somewhere cheap to
stay, right in the thick of the city, this place is amazing value. |

| Main advantages: situated in the very heart of old Amsterdam, where the sights, smells hussle and bussell of this amazing place is right at their front door, within a short walk to central station,we had a beautiful view from our room, basic as it was,it was clean and the shower, and toilet facilities were spotless, the breakfast was served by staff that couldnt have been friendlier, and it was two fried eggs and bacon with a pot of tea/coffee, and jams, all this for a very reasonable price,,couldnt beat it as we say in Belfast. |
