Room information

Rooms with romantic canal view and with direct view of the Royal Palace/Wester church in some with balcony.

Other rooms are more quiet at the backside with garden view. There are also rooms reserved for non-smokers.

Please note: quadruple rooms on the canal side do not have a balcony.

A continental breakfast of toast, jam, honey, chocolate, cheese, boiled eggs, cereals, coffee, tea and orange juice is included in the room price.

The staff can recommend nice restaurants in the area.

Area information

Hotel Di-Ann is located close to Dam Square, Anne Frank House, the charming Jordaan district with its picturesque market, shops, restaurants, art galleries and the shopping area of Kalverstraat.
Central Station, Leidseplein and the Flower market are a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Travel information

By Aeroplane:
You can take a train from Schiphol airport to Central Station; it takes about 19 minutes, and a one-way ticket costs EUR 3.60. From the station you can take tram number 13, 14, 17 or 20 (EUR 1.60).
A taxi from Schiphol airport will cost approximately EUR 35.00.
There is a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel (Connexxion Schiphol Hotel Shuttle); a return ticket will cost EUR 19.00. The service is active from 06:00 to 21:00.

By Car:
- From the A10, take exit S105 (Geuzenveld) and follow signs for Centrum.
- Follow Jan van Galenstraat until Nassaukade.
- Turn right and then take the 1st street on the left (across a canal) onto Rozengracht.
- On Rozengracht, continue; this street name will turn into Raadhuisstraat.
- Hotel Di-Ann can be found at number 27, underneath arcades between the canals Keizersgracht and Herengracht.

Main disadvantages: ok, it's a typical house in Amsterdam, so you expect steeply rising stairs. But it's a slight shock when you open the front door and see those stairs. It's not for people who have problems with feet or knees. And don't carry big luggage with you ;)

Main advantages: the room was clean, but really tiny. But it's a typical Amsterdam house, so it was ok. Breakfast was good and enough.

Main advantages: Location is great , good rate, exciting steep long staircase to show American guests ! An experience in itself . Room is very small (2 feet walking space around bed)but we only needed to sleep there so served it's purpose. Room was clean and bed fine .No modern interior design or so . Has safe and (empty fridge).

Main disadvantages: There was a smell in the bathroom, probably due to drainage and the bathroom itself was not good. No facility in room to make hot drinks. Fridge in room but did not appear to be working adequately. Rooms basic and expensive but the city itself is and therefore you cannot expect the same as you would get elsewhere for the price you pay.

Main advantages: Location and breakfast although limited, plentiful. Balcony as we smoke and also pleasant to have fresh air however unfortunately pouring with rain on our arrival and first day but very nice to sit in the sun on second day although we were leaving that day and so needed to check out at 11.00 am. Good to be able to leave cases at hotel till later when we were leaving the city.

Sylvia Frankfurt/Main, Germany - Individual tour

Main disadvantages: As we did not expect too much from a two star hotel it was really nice. In Amsterdam the rooms are really (really!) small - this seems to be standard. The bathroom in the room had no window and a bad air circulation. So it was mould-infested (bad, bad smell...). The bed was not really comfortable. Good or bad - your need to decide: the very steep stairs to get to the rooms ;)

Main advantages: Of course the location of the hotel is great. Within 10-15 min you can reach the Central Station (walking). Also all other sight seeing points are really close.The hotel stuff was really nice. Breakfast was a good 2-star-breakfast (two kinds of bread, several sorts of marmelade/Nutella, eggs, cheese, juice, coffee and tea). Although the room was really small it is enough for having a good rest at night. As our room was showing to the main street you could hear the traviffic in the morning. But to us it did not matter as we enyoied our own balcony (which was quite big) ! We booked a room with our own bathroom, which was clean. But I could see the the toilet on the flour was always clean also.

Main disadvantages: It's a bit noisy due to the tram right under the windows but ok to sleep.

Main advantages: They're many storage spaces in the room. The great balcony offers a nice view on the city. The Buffet Breakfast is excellent (eggs, toasts, marmelade, Nutella, good black coffee,...) and served from 07:30 to 10:30 ! The hotel is well located, in a nice historical house, close to Dam Square. I would return there without hesitating !

Main disadvantages: My grandma would not have been able to climb all those steep and narrow stairs... I was also a bit concerned that you had to leave the key card in the reception during the day, so that theoretically anyone could wander on in and claim to be staying in a certain room, since the afternoon receptionist did not check to see if I was actually the person who had checked in there in the morning.

Main advantages: Truly wonderful balcony! Surprisingly varied breakfast. Location obviously excellent. Staff helpful and pleasant and informative.
