| Main advantages: The location was superb and it was cheaper than likely nearby hotels.
The room, the towels and sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable. The
reception and the bar are the same place. The door to the rooms is next
to the enterance of this bar/reception and this door can be opened only
by a room key. So you do not have to walk in front of a reception
whenever you go out or come in. Housekeeping was working well if we had
asked they would clean and change towels everyday. The room was hot
enough and had hot water anytime. The people at reception were helpful
and kind, after check-out they allowed us to store our luggages in the
hotel until our departing time from the city. We stayed in room 8 (not
the street side) on the first floor so there was no noise from outside.
The hotel is small so you hear people walking or talking (if loudly) in the next/upper rooms during the day. At nights this situation is rear so we could sleep well, but if you are an extreme light sleeper this is not for you. And this hotel is not suitable for families with kids. |

| Main disadvantages: The stairs were very steep, even more so than in other hotels in
Amsterdam, and there was some noise from people going up and down late
at night, and some noise from outside: this is the downside to that
convenient location, that it is in the heart of the nightlife area. The
breakfast was advertised as costing 5 Euros, but this did not include
any drinks. The extra we paid for coffee and orange juice made the cost
up to 10 Euros, so it was not the bargain it first seemed. |
| Main advantages: The bed was very comfortable and clean, and the shower was temperature
controlled. Loved it. The view from the window was good: we stayed in a
front facing room. One of the main reasons for choosing this hotel was
location: it is very close to the railway station. We were able to
leave our luggage while we did a bit more sightseeing as we had a
morning to spare. |

| Main advantages: This is a lovely hotel and in a great location, the rooms are a good size for 2 people and very clean. the shower and toilet were seperate and the bed was really comfortable.
Will definately be staying here next time we go :) |

| Main advantages: The location is great,right in the centre of everything.Can be quite
noisy through the night,but this is the centre of Amsterdam!!Beds were
very comfortable,so didn't hear much of it.The staff of the hotel were
very helpful.Would definately stay here again. :-) |

| Main disadvantages: This was the 2nd time we had stayed at the hoel and didnt find it as
good the 2nd time round, all the staff seemed to have changed and they
no longer cater breakfasts for different tastes anymor. We loved the
chef that used to be there he was very nice and helpful. Overall
Amstredam has changed a great deal the cost of things there is
ridiculous and they charge you whatever you like they are ripping
tourists off right,left and centre. But overall our stay at the hotel
was pleasant |

| Main disadvantages: The stairs were very, very steep, and the steps were super narrow, but it' s ok, if your're relatively fit and look where you're going...besides, all buildings in the center will have steep stairs anyways... |
| Main advantages: Hotel staff was very friendly and hapily shared with us their knowledge of the city. The room was modern, clean and comfortable. I' d recommend this hotel to everyone staying in Amsterdam downtown. The hotel is located accross from the train station and within walking distance to all downtown points of interest. Hotel bar was very cozy. Loved it! |

| Main disadvantages: Check out time is at 10am. Even though I read about the step stairway, I was surprised to find out how step it was. I don't know how can one carries a medium size baggage up or down the stair. Walls are thin. To be fair, for a one-star hotel in an ancient building, I would accept all these. But, EUR 75 a night on a week day is not exactly cheap... |
| Main advantages: The people working here are all very friendly. The location is very close to the central train station. For someone wants to go in and out of the city quick, this is a good choice. For EUR 5 more, you can get a big breakfast. Free internet. |
