Overlooking the Atlantic, Guesthouse 1X6 is in the old Reykjanesbær district of Keflavík, a 20-minute drive from the Blue Lagoon. It offers free Wi-Fi and a garden spa.
The individually designed guest rooms at Guesthouse 1X6 have shared bathroom facilities. Each floor has a private entrance and a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher.
The eco-friendly Guesthouse 1X6 is mostly built from recycled materials and driftwood. The unique bathroom tiles are collected from local construction sites.

| Main advantages: Unique handmade interiour - with love in every detail. The hotpot in the
garden completes the feeling of being in another world. Homebaked bread
and smoked trout made a perfect breakfast! What a wonderful place! |

| Main disadvantages: The guesthouse staff was not present when I arrived. I was unaware that
other guests were there and had actually taken the room I was to stay
in. A phone was provided to call the owner, who placed the person I was
traveling with on opposite floors. The owner could not come right away
to detail our stay - this was a shared kitchen as well. The breakfast
provided was difficult to know at best with many others also staying and
occupying refridgerater space. It appeared the breakfast was to be
different then what was actual. There was no shuttle service at the
airport - but the ad for the guesthouse stated such - the airport
shuttle service was aware that this was not so as well. It was very
disappointing to have encountered so many problems - then try to find
somewhere to eat dinner after 5 pm! |

| Main disadvantages: The only thing I disliked was my own planning - I checked in late and
had to leave early. I should have stayed longer! |
| Main advantages: This is simply a fantastic place. Daniel, the owner, is an artist in the
first place but he is also an excellent host. When I arrived the first
impression was the one of "coming home" - the smell of freshly baked
bread, a friendly and unassuming host and a lovely atmosphere. The rooms
are all designed individually finished to a high standard. Even the
bathroom is an adventure as it's partly tiled with lava stone and
different "volcanic" colours. Every guest gets supersoft towels and
slippers, which just adds to the homely feeling. Breakfast is self-
service, which I loved. You can just prepare your own food with all the
fantastic ingredients he has in his kitchen...a really sense of comfort
especially if you have travelled for a long time and you are tired of
hosts who just don't get it right for you. Also, the guesthouse is a 5
minute taxi ride away from the airport and Daniel will book a taxi for
you before you know it! I should mention the hot pot that is available
for guests at all times of the day...I Don't have to explain why it is
an advantage to have a soak after a long travel day. Out of 12 nights in
all kinds of places around Iceland, this has been the highlight of my
trip. One of the best places I have ever stayed at. Applause! |

| Main advantages: Daniel is the owner as well as an artist and you can see his work throughout all of the rooms. He is kind, friendly and very helpful. We wished we could have stayed longer at the guesthouse! Breakfast was delicious and access to the bus was incredibly easy. Hope that we can stay there again! |

| Main advantages: Wonderfully innovative room design, impeccably clean, very comfortable and the natural hot spring pond a delight. The self serve breakfast system was very convenient and the bread excellent. The guesthouse was convenient for the airport and made for an excellent start and finish to our Iceland holiday. The owner and the staff that I met were very friendly and helpful. |

| Main advantages: it was a very warm welcome! when we arrived Daniel wan"t there, but a note for us. The rooms are amazing, you see that everything is made with love. The location is just perfect: we had dinner in the harbour at Kaffi Duus which was excellent, the hotel is close to the airport (around 1900 ISK). In total, everything just perfect for our last night in iceland |

| Main advantages: Daniel, the host, is amazingly talented and helpful. The guesthouse was
built by him, and is a true marvel of "reuse-reduce-recycle". It is
situated about 5 minutes from Keflavik airport, and is about 20 minutes
away from the Blue Lagoon. The breakfast, which is self serve, is fresh
and nice, and Daniel bakes fresh bread for the morning. The guesthouse
is relaxing and friendly, and walking distance to the main street of the
village and the sea front. Truly a nice place to stay. |

| Main advantages: Very good location by the seaside of the relaxing smalltown Keflavik.
We felt very at home at the house. Inspiring design and good atmosphere. Relaxing hot tub in the garden. |

| Main advantages: The interior and design of the guesthouse and rooms is just perfect -
very nice and very clean. The self-service breakfast was excellent and
included everything what we wished to have. The location is perfect -
two minutes to the Keflavik airport. |

| Main disadvantages: Nothing ! I really will stay there next time too and I would recommend it too everybody when going to the blue lagoon or if you have an early/late flight ! |
| Main advantages: Beautill place, very very nice rooms, very original ! Friendly people, super breakfast with fresh baked bread... 5 min from airport. Nice tub outside, unfortunately I forget my badingsuit. Very personaly but still enough privacy ! |

| Main advantages: We had a 7am flight from Keflavik Airport. 1x6 was ideally located for the airport trip being only 10mins car journey away. Daniel was a friendly host and booked a taxi for us and directed us to a great fish restaurant across the street. In the groundfloor level of the guesthouse, there are 2 x double and 1 x twin rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen - great for a families. Thankfully for us there was no one else in the extra room as we did have to get up at 4.30am. Daniel is extremely creative with wood and thow-away bits of timber - all the rooms are compeletely different in design and are fantastic. I would recomend anyone to stay here. |

| Main advantages: Had a fabulous stay, was the perfect end to a brilliant holiday. The owner is great and looked after us really well...it felt like we were staying with friends, he even took us swimming and got a fire going for us in the evening! Would definitely recommend...oh and a great breakfast too! |
