Main advantages: Really excellent hotel with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Located right in the middle of the commercial area of town, location couldn't be better for those with just a couple days to spend. Front desk staff was very helpful in helping us get around.

Main disadvantages: Due to its central location it is plagued by noise pollution from nearby clubs. Absolutely accept that some noise follow such a great location however, it was so that we could not sleep the first night (2nd night we decided to join the noise) they are clearly aware of it and handed us ear plugs as soon as I said something. It would be great if the earplugs were in the room to start with, and maybe some upfront admittance of this issue, such as on the booking.com description pages! Generally we found the hotel facilities and breakfast a bit too basic for a 4 star category.
Main advantages: the hotel had a great location, some very helpful staff, who were happy to help sorting out excursions etc for us. Nice bar with happy hour. Also the bathroom had an awesome shower!

Main disadvantages: we got upgraded to a suite which was nice, but it didn't have a tub which we had wanted. Also, the 50 E charge for early arrival seems too expensive and unfair since the room would be unused if we didn't arrive early.

Main disadvantages: I believe it is a misrepresentation to advertise some of the rooms in this hotel as doubles, as they are merely two twin beds pushed together with a cover on top. It was very uncomfortable to sleep on the bed as if it were a double for one person. The first room I was shown was way to small for a 5-day stay. It was a standard size room but I was told it was considered deluxe because of the "view." I requested to be switched into a room that had a space to put my bags down!
Main advantages: Location, location, location! Also, the customer service was first rate. Desk staff went above and beyond to address guests' requests and concerns.

Main disadvantages: We had a room on the fourth floor (mansard) which was really nice, but the space in the bathroom was more limited than the one in the other rooms (where our friends were). That means no shelves and a smaller shower box. The design was the same, anyway.
Main advantages: We liked a lot the hotel modern design and furniture, the comfort and location. Breakfast was very good. Wifi and free internet point in the hall.

Main disadvantages: Noise outside hotel due to all night partying. breakfast was good but novariance in menu and some times the eggs and sausage and bacon was cold.mini refrigerator did not work and staff said nothing could be doneabout it as the hotel was full therefore they couldnot tranfer a workingone to us. the curtain that blocks out the daylight (24 hrs) rod wasbroken and not fixed during our stay. but it was a great place to stay

Main disadvantages: The only thing that I really didn't like about the hotel (which likely applies to ALL hotels near or in the downtown core) is that the partying on the weekends is so loud that if you have a street facing window and don't wish to join the merry-making, you might have a problem. On the second of 2 sleepless nights, I called reception (at about 5am) and asked about earplugs. "Of course," was the reply and I received them straight away. Advice: ask for the earplugs earlier than me (before attempting to sleep on Friday night). Less problematic was that while the essentials were cleaned well everyday, the tub wasn't cleaned after every use nor the bathroom amenities replaced.
Main advantages: I was upgraded to a deluxe room which featured a huge bathtub. Given that it rained 2 of the days I stayed in Reykjavik, the tub was appreciated (the tub was angled so that you could watch TV from it as well as from the bed). The room was stylish and the bed comfortable. The staff were knowledgeable about the area and helpful in giving directions and suggestions.

Main disadvantages: High intensity lights made the room very warm. No air conditioning inrooms and only one small window made the room extremely hot!!
Main advantages: Power shower was excellent! Interesting bathroom with glass partitionmade it very modern and functional. Staff was very helpful and friendly.Bed was very comfortable. I used the hotel for a business trip and wasalone so my room was a double but would have been very tight for 2people. Noise was not as big an issue as I assumed (from other reviews)even with window open. Very good choices for breakfast and am staff keptthe supply of food fresh and plentiful.
