2 Lion Gate, Hampton Court Road, Kingston upon Thames
Perched on the edge of Hampton Court Palace, this historic hotel boasts individually styled and themed rooms.
Backing onto the famous Hampton Court maze, providing easy access to the Palace grounds and Bushey Park, The Kings Arms is surrounded by sophisticated heritage. Built around 1709, with a stone frontage that can be dated back to 1658, the hotel was recently refurbished and now offers several distinctive, fully equipped rooms. Each based around the theme of Henry VIII and his 6 wives, you can enjoy a relaxed stay with a unique feel. Dine either al fresco in the courtyard, informally in the comfortable lounge bar, or in the restaurant for something a little extra special.

David Dartmouth, United Kingdom - Rest with children |
|
|
| Main advantages: It had much more character than the Premier or Travel Lodge and was on
the day booking, cheaper. I would when I am back again, sometimes
twice a month, through choice return rather than stay at the above.
Lovely well furnished in oldy style room, superb mirrors and nice
clean modern bathroom. |

| Main disadvantages: Single rooms are unacceptably small, with no seating area. I changed
(and paid extra) for a double room, which had a chaise, but, really,
comfort requires a conventional chair and desk, which were not there.
Bar tables were not regularly cleaned (maybe normal in bars).
At breakfast, I would have liked a bread and pastry selection. |
| Main advantages: All staff were friendly and helpful. Double room is comfortable, with
large flat-screen tv. Good, freshly-cooked breakfast.
Located at gate of Hampton Court Palace.
Walking distance to pleasant villllage of Hampton, with shops and restaurants.
Good connections for shopping in Kingston or central London. |

| Main disadvantages: My allocated room was awful, paper hanging off the wall with an olde damp smell. The enterance to the room had a door blocked off and the smell to the bathroom and bedroom was vile.
I think the room was above the kitchen / laundry and that needs sorting.
After complaining I was re-located and that room was alot better and good value for the money. |
| Main advantages: Location to Hampton Court. Bar. Breakfast was excellent. |

| Main disadvantages: The food was ok but limited. Our room was shabby and dark but clean.
Dirty plates were not removed during our three night stay. The traffic
noise was more than we expected - only quiet between 2 and 5 A.M. On the
last morning the toaster at breakfast time was defective and filled the
kitchen and dining room with thick smoke, setting off the alarm which
was "good" , only trouble was the manager did not know how to turn it
off and had to phone a colleague!!! We would return but not to room 10!! |
| Main advantages: It was well situated for our purposes. On arrival we were made
welcome. It was a very traditional pub with a good atmosphere. A very
good selection of beer and lagers etc.Esay reach of good local eateries. |

| Main disadvantages: It was a little bit tired and needs updating, and we could not shut our
bedroom window as it was stuck in the open position. |
| Main advantages: Convenience for Hampton Court and Bushey Park. Easy to get to from
Heathrow airport, only one bus and it stops right outside, Also Kingston
Park shopping centre was only a few minutes away by the same bus which
had everything you could want. The hotel was also not too big so it was
quite intimate. |

| Main advantages: I was part of a wedding party and needed to check in early and return
back to my room late evening. The staff went out of their to accommodate
this and were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was clean and
comfortable and had a quirky feel to it. It's not your bog standard
'commercial' hotel, which gives it character. If you are looking for a
nice, friendly and slightly quirky little hotel, then The Kings Arms is
perfect. It also is a great location for exploring Hampton Court and
surrounding places of interest. |

|
| Main disadvantages: We managed to get our room at a discounted rate as we booked late, have
to say it might be a bit pricey at full rate however depends what you
are looking for. |
| Main advantages: The Kings Arms was the perfect location for the Hampton court family
festival and the Palace, outside the window on the stairs is the maze -
1 minute walk. Food was good and the pub is so old its all in keeping
with the palace visit - we loved it for our one night visit, just what
we were looking for. Staff friendly. |

|
| Main disadvantages: Not many parking spaces, and street parking is limited to 2 hours until
1830 - but staff did suggest alternative parking areas for after we had
checked out (but were still exploring the area). |
| Main advantages: Great location with really friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was
fantastic, and the staff were happy to let you swap things you didn't
like in the full breakfast offered for other items. |

| Main advantages: We stayed near by last year and ate at The Kings Arms and wished we had
stayed there: so we did.I Like the surroundings as it is comfortable and
oldy worldy. The food is very good as is the service. The location is
unique partly over looking Hampton court maze. The beer is 'well kept'. |
