Main advantages: Fantastic place! Set in beautiful scenery - an excellent base for walkers and countryside lovers. The staff are so nice, friendly and welcoming and the rooms are really clean, and modern with lovely comfortable beds too- the superior room was fabulous with beautiful views and had a lovely en-suite shower room. The breakfasts were massive and set us up for a good day walking on the fells. I would highly recommend this hotel! Have stayed several times and each time cannot fault it! Love it!

Main advantages: The hotel is in a wonderful setting with the mountains of Langdale all around. Although the valley is busy, the hotel itself was peaceful and tranquil. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good (evening bar food and breakfast - didn't try the restaurant)

Main advantages: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the options on the restaurant menu - 2 course, 3 course or 4/5 course - and the opportunity to take a bar meal if preferred. the hotel itself was very welcoming and the many log fires were an extremely attractive feature.
