In central Chester, Kings at the Queen Hotel has modern rooms with large bathrooms and iPod docks. The luxury, boutique hotel has free Wi-Fi and 24-hour deluxe room service. The rooms are stylishly decorated with rich colours and sumptuous fabrics. All rooms have a satellite TV, air conditioning and a work desk, and the bathrooms feature a hairdryer and free toiletries. The Kings is a private area of the Queen Hotel. Built in late 2008, Kings has a chic bar and lounge, offering light snacks and fine wines. Guests can relax on the Italian terraces in the leafy gardens. The hotel is on the same road as Chester Railway Station and a few minutes’ walk from Chester’s Roman Walls. On-site parking is available, and Chester Racecourse is a 20-minute walk away. From 01 August 2011, the hotel offers a free bar from 17:00 to 19:00, Sunday to Thursday only. Main advantages: Wanted to relax and have some grown up time before the Christmas rush,, and The Kings suite at the Queens hit the spot for comfort, luxury, and relaxation...great location for the trains and 10 min to the city centre.. The bathroom was a nice surprise to see a bath and a big one at that.. Will come back again as Chester is our fav City...

Main disadvantages: No heating in the Bathroom. When I queried this Reception I was informed that the wall heated towel rail had been switched off because of it getting too hot and creating health and safety issues. They need to get this sorted out quickly. It would put me off staying again if I thought I couldn't have a warm bathroom.

Main advantages: Very convenient location for the Railway Station - especially with the Free Bus into the town centre and the stop for the Open Top Bus Tour. The night light built into the skirting near the bathroom - very good for those of us who have to get up in the night and are worried about disturbing people.

Main disadvantages: Superb bathroom, nice bedroom but the bed was uncomfortable, far too soft..... From the 7th floor we should have had a great view if only the outside windows had been cleaned.

Main advantages: Good hotel, good staff, very busy place for our stay due to conferences and a wedding. Hotel has a lot of charactere and a lot of romans...

Main disadvantages: Would have3 been nice to have a safe and mini bar in the room for a hotel of this standard.

Main advantages: Lovely hotel. Super room, close to the railway station and to shuttle bus into Chester and pick up point for the sightseeing buses.However not at all noisy.

Main disadvantages: A little bit noisy and a lot and charged (the same for non-guests) to put the car in the car park as a guest.

Main advantages: Our rooms were very well appointed in the Kings part of Queens were we stayed. We like the theme - each room representing a different king and each floor a different country - we were on the floor represented by Chinese Kings!

Main advantages: We wanted a short city break without the kids for a chance to relax and unwind and thought we would try the Kings at the Queen Hotel. We read the reviews and can quite honestly say, it is one of the best weekends we have had. It was a bit of an indulgence but life is too short and all that. The Hotel was extremely easy to find and the location was ideal. We drove and found the car parking fees to be reasonable. It is also an ideal location if you come by train as the station was across the road. The staff were very friendly and set the tone for the stay. Our room was pure luxury and the restaurant food was exquisite

Main disadvantages: Drinks were somewhat overpriced for what was on offer. Free bar for two 2 hour son a Friday was good idea-but could have been organised better and we had to ask for this facility-it was not offered at checking in

Main advantages: Furnished to an exceptionally high standard for an inner city hotel-rooms especially in the King's annex were of a high standard

Main disadvantages: We had to ask for extra towels as there were only a couple in the room. A mini bar would have been a nice addition, room service charged a £5 tray service which we felt was a bit pricey when we were only ordering one drink!

Main advantages: The suite was very spacious and quiet. The TV in the bathroom was nice!
