Main disadvantages: Concierge forgot dinner reservation and simply did not get back. 'Eco- friendly' shower not satisfactory for a 5 star hotel - way to little water pressure for warm water.

Main advantages: Excellent for location close to historic city and shopping outlets. Parking available on site. Rooms very clean. Internet should be included in the price of the room as with other hotels and lacking was coffee making in the room. Water wanted to run from shower to floor as shower door would not close. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I found city center rather uninteresting and would recommend Avignon or Aix en Provence as more interesting to tourists, however, the center still was interesting and had merits. Restaurant did not have space for us and that was a let down...one of the reasons to stay at the hotel. I did could not reserve a slot in the restaurant on the internet from the US.

Main disadvantages: remember to ask for a renovated room! the room we were first given was old n dark on the 6th floor, which looks nothing like the website photos. After talking to the front desk, they did manage to switch us to a newly renovated room on the 1st floor. Also, the window was very dirty, which is such a shame since it's supposed to be a room with river "view".

Main advantages: good location, right next to the Rhône river, and walking distance to shopping area. newly renovated room is nice n modern, with ipod dock. very comfortable beds & pillows. free mini bar & free wifi is a plus.

Main disadvantages: Unfortunately only the lobby and the first three floors had been refurbished. I had a room on 5th floor which still had the old smelly hallways. The suite however was well maintained for its age! Refurbishments for the rest of the hotel will happen by next summer, as the guest relations manager let me know.

Main advantages: The staff was very helpful and friendly, especially the concierge helped us a lot.

Main advantages: We had a really good time at Sofitel Lyon Bellecour. We booked through booking.com and got a great deal. Breakfast was however not included (which we had forgotten about) and we were shocked when we were asked to pay €25 per person (I.E. €100 for two for two days!) at check out. The views from the breakfast room are beautiful and the buffet is good but €25 is far too expensive!

Main advantages: Five star professional and friendly service. Rooms and beds very comfortable. Location is centrally located and is convenient. Beautiful hotel in a beautiful and classy city.

Main advantages: Fabulously soft bed and pillows. Loved Bose Ipod docking station, a nice touch. Great cocktail bar with fabulous view and great singer. Very useful valet parking. Beautiful, very trendy hotel communal areas.

Main disadvantages: As I was sharing a room with my son I found that the bathroom door which has a big gap between 2 panels somewhat disconcerting.

Main advantages: The staff are very friendly and the Concierge service is excellent as they would give directions suggestions on restaurants and things to do. The staff suggested that I rent a bike and cycle to Parc Tete D'Or which was particularly enjoyable.

Main advantages: The moment you enter the hotel you are in a different world - the subtly- perfumed air is very relaxing. Wonderful staff made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Although we speak French, every staff memeber we encountered, at all levels of service, spoke very good English. Even if you opt not to dine in their award-winning Trois Domes restaurant, the adjoining top-floor bar with its Rhone river views across to Part-Dieu is not to be missed.
