so no big deal. Bathroom appliances a bit chipped and dated, but clean
which is the main thing. I will stay again

Main advantages: I particularly liked the checkin counter staff, a young French lady,
who was very pleasant and helpful and spoke excellent English. But I
cannot say the same for the black male staff who manned the counter in
the evening, who treated me brusquely when I asked about the internet
rates, telling me without a smile it was chargeable and all written on
the card placed on the counter. Certainly I would not ask him further
for assistance on using the service, as it was not something I could
not do without. But he certainly served to lower the rating for the
entire staff.
The second thing I liked about the hotel is the location. It proved most useful for me when i had to soend one night in Paris between two flights in and out of CDG airport.

Main advantages: The hotel location was great and very easy to find (I was driving), rooms are really superb, though for some reason I got neither a minibar or safe, luckily my traveling companion had both in her room. The hotel really fitted the bill. Parking in Gare du Nord was fine and beside the hotel though when I arrived a place was hard to find.. but patience paid off.

Main advantages: Convenient 25 min rer train from cdg Airport to Gare du Nord Station,
step out of station, cross the road and there you are.Comfortable sized
bedrooms for a Paris hotel. Close to Montmarte. Good service staff and
nice breakfast spread.

Main disadvantages: Staff mixed. We booked 3 rooms, the older gent who was checking us in
was a bit of a bumbler. He got confused and someone younger took over
and handled it in a jiffy. Rooms and common areas need a bit of a
refurb, but then prices will rise I'm sure. At the moment the price
against facilities/location are pretty much in balance but the state of
the hotel is below the standard of most Mecure hotels I've stayed in.
It's a bit old, that's all.
Main advantages: Location is ideal for a quick trip in and out of Paris. Price was
reasonable for what it is.

Main disadvantages: The key system wasn't working when we go there so someone had to let us
into the room for the first day. Breakfast on the second was very
crowded, we had to wait for a table and a lot of the food was not
available. There was a huge queue for the tea/coffee machines. The staff
managed well but you could see they were stressed about the situation.
Main advantages: The location is good, the metro is right at the door, the room was a
good size for Paris, the breakfast was good.

Main disadvantages: I booked a room for my self and husband and one for my children. The children were on a different floor from us and their room was much more spacious. After checking in the staff did offer to change our room but having taken credit card details etc it seemed too much of a nuicance.

Main disadvantages: The Room was ok. not great. a Few things were not working liketelevision ( though I had hardly any time to watch tv). Washbasin hadstains. Scope for improvement.
Main advantages: Very good location, friendly staff and lively. For those arriving bytrain , it is just across the station. and the hotel is very near tomajor attractions in paris with good connectivity by bus/metro/taxi.

Main disadvantages: I asked by mail for room not on the street side. The lady confirmedagain when I arrived but at the end I ended up into a room with view onthe Gare Du Nord right next to the crowdy street. It is also rediculousyou still need to pay 10 euro's for having (a very slow) internetconnection.
Main advantages: Rooms were a bit old fashioned but proper with new furniture, Verypositive about the view from the breakfast room to Gare du Nord

Main disadvantages: Air conditioning in room was not operating on a very hot day. I estimate room temp was approaching 30 degrees celsius. Asked a number of times to change room with matters culminating after 4 hours by demanding to speak to Manager for room change. Once this was done my room was changed where the air conditioning was working. The Manager said that there were a number of rooms with this problem and as it was a weekend they couldnt get any one in umtil Monday. In a 4 star hotel this is unacceptable. I would expect that a prominnet named hotel chain like Mercure would have service providers at call on the week end to deal with such problems. Apart frpm this the staff were very good and I would recommend a stay at the hote.

Main advantages: Its location is just perfect. Just on the other side of the road opposite to Gare du Nord you immediately arrive to a vibrant Paris. The bus stop for the hop on, hop off tour buses is just around the corner, Metro as well. The location is excellent, the staff very friendly and you should not waste time to find a hotel somewhere farther away when you will actually spend most of your time in the city anyway. I would definitely recommend this place!

Main advantages: Sumptuous buffet breakfast!! Lovely room! Your kindness and help when I collapsed at breakfast on May 14th and the help you provided my wife when she had to book an additional night while I was in hospital. Main disadvantages: The hotel either would not, or could not facilitate a request to use the internet so that we could check in online for our return flights. Small item in the greater scheme of things, but it would have been more convenient.
