Located in the heart of Nice, Le Grimaldi is a minute's walk from Cours Saleya Flower Market and 450 metres from the beach and Promenade des Anglais. It offers air-conditioned rooms. Each soundproofed room is individually decorated with traditional décor and has views over Mount Boron. They are equipped with satellite TV and private bathroom. Main advantages: My sister and our husbands were travelling with our 85-year-old mother and found the staff to be exceptionally friendly, helpful, and attentive (but not hovering or obtrusive). We called one afternoon to arrive that night--one day early and needing 3 rooms. Despite the fact that it was a holiday weekend, Le Grimaldi had one room available and found 2 others at another hotel. The 2nd hotel was more expensive but we were charged the same rate as Le Grimaldi. The second and third nights we all had rooms on the same floor at Le Grimaldi. The decor was sophisticated yet cozy, each room a bit different; the lobby bar was great for a nightcap or a cup of tea in the afternoon (it rained most of the trip!). Staff recommended some great restaurants (one right next door), and helped with dinner and airport shuttle reservations. Also, the shampoo and soaps were L'Occitane, which were lovely!

Main advantages: The hotel is very charming, the rooms and beds are comfortable and bathroom was modern and very nice. They have a tiny elevator and our room was on the 4th floor, so we mostly went up the winding spiral staircase - good exercise! Breakfast was included, nice continental selection (you could also boil an egg if you want it), laid out with beautiful crockery. All in all enjoyed our stay, would recommend.

Main advantages: We were very pleased with the hotel, and found our room very attractive and comfortable. It was easy to access and there are several parking garages nearby. The staff is very helpful. Le Grimaldi will be our first choice when staying in Nice.

Sang , - Individual tour

Main disadvantages: The only blemish is the thin walls - a couple came home late one night and started talking and laughing loudly. They must have been drink too! I gave them an hour and they promptly passed out! I got my revenge at 4 am when I had to get up to get to the airport for my early morning flight!

Main advantages: The bilingual staff are fantastic! Sometimes one is reluctant to ask for cutlery when one buys food from the supermarket and wants to eat in, but this time the staff were very obliging and handed me beautiful cutlery and crockery for my al cheapo lunch!!! Also, the hotel taxi shuffle service is very efficient. 28 Euros one way and very punctual! I think I will stay here again. Lastly, ask for room 55. It has a beautiful view of the church across the road.

Main disadvantages: The 'double' bed was, in fact, two singles pushed together and they kept moving apart creating a gap covered by just a sheet which was a little uncomfortable

Main advantages: The location was ideal for where we wanted to go and the staff were most helpful. The room was quiet and comfortable

Main advantages: We had a wonderful stay at Le Grimaldi. The location was perfect, room size was very adequate for a European hotel. The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We could not have had a better experience.
