| Main advantages: The Wellington hotel is situated in the best part of Salamanca district. Location is superb.
The public halls, as well as the room was excellent and in very good "old style" decor.
Service was good, reception and concierge assitance was excellent.
We enjoyed our stay very much! |

| Main disadvantages: Reception staff were a bit surly and not very friendly. Other staff were friendly. Pool far too cold especially as it doesn't get much sun due to the high buildings surrounding it. Even on a very hot day it was too cold to swim for any length of time. Pool was important to us on a city break. |
| Main advantages: The room was immaculate and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. The Wellington is well located in a nice district and near the metro station which made it easy to travel around Madrid. The hotel is opposite Retiro Park which is beautiful and only a short walk away. Relaxing atmosphere round the pool with a very nice poolside restaurant. |

| Main disadvantages: The cost of wi-fi. The electronic mini bar is absurd. Nothing may be
added or touched without automatic charge. Sign says to ask if guest
would like to put an item in the mini bar--we asked if we might store
only a small container of milk for our young son and were told "yes" but
we would be charged 3 to 4 euros (the cost of a bottle of water) every
time we added/removed it from the fridge. The pool was unheated and in
the shade so quite cold even in August. Not enough seating around pool.
Desk staff claimed to speak little or no English which surprised us at a
5 star hotel. With the exception of one nice gentleman who helped us
with a reservation the desk staff seemed apathetic. Non-news tv such as
child/family friendly channels cost 25 euros per day. |
| Main advantages: Due to a long stay in Summer we wanted a hotel with a pool and stayed
here specifically for the off season rate and as such the quality and
location were very good. The room and bed were very comfortable and
quiet, bathroom quite large (excellent shower!) and housekeeping was
excellent. Multi-lingual 24 hour news channels free. We are not big
breakfast eaters so did not partake due to the high cost (normal in
Spain so we did not mind). The neighborhood is mostly residential, quiet
and green; the proximity to Retiro esp with children is wonderful and
there are a couple of cafes for breakfast nearby. Very close to metro
into the Center and to museums. |

| Main advantages: We stayed 2 nights at the Wellington and were made welcome from the
beginning to the end. The staff are very friendly and helpful and make
you feel as much at home as possible. The room was quiet and
comfortable, with adjustable air conditioning. The range of meals
available was also excellent. |

| Main disadvantages: Service, some staff were very unhelpful and made the trip a little bit
harder than it should be. |
| Main advantages: I had been to the Hotel several times before, but this time the big
difference was the service. Facilities were very good and the breakfast
plentiful. |

| Main disadvantages: The hotel was ok, there was nothing specific I dislike but the hotel was nothing fantastic for a 5 *s. The room were clean and comfortable, but nothing different to a 4 *s hotel. I really hate the electronic fridge where you can even move a drink because it gets charged into your account. |
| Main advantages: Excellent location. |

| Main advantages: Fantastic location in the heart of Salamanca, very helpful staff,
excellent breakfast with champagne incuded in our room price, very
comfortable bed, the best shops in Madrid 200 meters from the main
entrance and the final bill twice lower than in Ritz. What else do we
need to have a great weekend stay in Madrid? Nothing! |

| Main disadvantages: Few chairs around the pool but always a way to get around this
inconvenience. I always hope to spend less, but when the service merits
it - well, what the... Only regret - we arrived after the midnight and
were advised to order dinner in the room, a disappointment - we ate so
well afterwards, including once in the hotel. |
| Main advantages: Agree with other customers - great breakfast, class in the hotel
maintained all around, safe location and a beutiful area with
exclusive shops. |

| Main disadvantages: Not enough options for reasonably priced food in the hotel. Would have
liked to get a small meal, like sushi rolls but not necessarily room
service. Also, would have been nice to have an area to sit outside that
was not at the bar or pool. It was still light out but the pool closed
at 8 and I was asked to leave. When I questioned it, I was told I could
stay but had to leave my room number for the towel. |
| Main advantages: Room was spacious and the toiletries were plentiful |

| Main disadvantages: Location slightly outside the very centre. For the price, I would have expected it to be more central. |
| Main advantages: The hotel was very nice and alert staff. However, the location is a bit out side the very centre of Madrid. You can take the underground or taxi which will take about 10 min. |
