Miramar Barcelona has a picturesque setting within gardens on Montjuïc Mountain, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Main disadvantages: The worst thing about this hotel is that our room was on the side of the shooting range nearby and so any napping or sleeping in would be disturbed. Our room was very clean but apparently they mix non-smoking and smoking rooms so they use a very strong deodorizer and that smell was overwhelming in itself! The location is a bit remote and no taxis are on onsite but they can be calmed with a 5-15 minute wait. The pictures on the website made this hotel look like an older historic hotel but in fact only the original facade remains. Inside it is totally modern which was a surprise. I wanted a historical atmosphere for this trip but it was very nice inside.

Main advantages: The hotel staff, especially Mary, the concierge, were very helpful with restaurants and site seeing. The location had great views of the city. In warmer weather the outdoor pool and seating areas would be lovely. Most of the staff spoke English very well.

Main advantages: Me and my family liked everything about Miramar Barcelona. Location, hotel staff, rooms, food, territory, etc. The price was below out expectations. All in-hotel services (except food and drinks) are included (wifi internet, spa, pools, gym, car parking, etc.). Large rooms with nice interior. Many major tourist attractions of Barcelona are close. We would like to go back there sometimes again.

Ying Paris, France - Group tour

Main advantages: Miramar is on the mountain, which overlooks the city of Barcelona and the port. The premium room is really nice, overlooking the hotel garden with a swimming pool. It is an enjoyment.

Georges Luxembourg, Luxembourg - Rest with children

Main advantages: Great view over Barcelona, top located... Negativ : During Breakfast at 10.30 the waiter told us tu hurry because they would put away the buffet. Imagin the rush ... my wife didn't even get a last cup of coffee... Now: I ordered a Parking for my car. (Mercedes sls amg) I hat to leave the keys in the reception, bec the receptionist told us that if they hat to move the car.. It would be better (ticket resguardo nr 000939) Imagine..one evening the Porter had a fun drive on the Parking outside... Next morning at 8.30 I heard the engine start of my car.. Terrible noise.. My wife on the balcony saw some men an the porter climbing in and out the car.. I precise it weren't hotel staff.. !! I called imediately the reception.. The porter told me he would just have liked to clean the car... !?!?! I for sure wil never leave my keys again... By the way the cleaning of the car was e messy wiping .... :o(( Georges Carbon

Main disadvantages: I booked this hotel on the websites indication of a room with a harbour and city view. The room we stayed in had a very restricted view of a drab garden, embankment and renovations with a very partial view of the city.

Main advantages: The location is outstanding and the hotel very well laid out. Subdued interior with great use of an older buildings space. Comfortable rooms, very good beds and an excellent entertainment system.

Main disadvantages: Certainly the management need to look a little closer at the service levels their staff provide. The main downside for the weekend for me is any request was met with long delays.

Main advantages: I liked the view in the hotel. My room was very spacious and I had an amazing balcony.

Main disadvantages: I did not at first realize that the 25-Euro breakfast was not the only option: There is a voucher system for 19 if you book it at check-in for the whole of your stay as well as a small-size breakfast for 10.50 served in the lounge not the breakfast room.

Main advantages: The hotel generously provided me with a sea-view room which is pretty fantastic.

Main disadvantages: No facilities in room for hot drinks. The entrance and some of the exterior was dissapointing - but they were making alterations.

Main disadvantages: The only drawback on our stay was that our room was situated on level 3, or 'ground level' as far as the rear-facing outdoor element of the room was concerned. It meant we didn't have a balcony or any of the Miramar's amazing views, but we did get an enormous outdoor patio space instead so it was a reasonable trade-off an not something to complain about.

Main advantages: The hotel has a great facade, facing out from Montjuic giving amazing views across the city. The pool area is very luxurious, with modern loungers, a well-designed pool and a decent bar. The room was large, comfortable and the bathroom was superb, with a modern wetroom and a good bath.

Main advantages: From the moment we arrived to the moment of our departure we were well treated by everyone and everyone went out of there way to attend to our needs... simple or not. The room was well appointed and the food well prepared. All in all it was an excellant stay.

Main disadvantages: Have to walk through less salubrious part of Barcelona to get to main part of city. Steep climb back to hotel. Food and drink ridiculously expensive, particularly breakfast (20 Euros each). Hotel puts on barbecue on Fri/Sat nights at 40 Euros each (not sure anyone went to it whilst we were there). Electronic room key had to be reset a couple of times during the week (annoying as on 5th floor). Other guest's items appeared on my bill, though no quibble removing them.

Main advantages: Lovely room - beautiful view from balcony over Mediterranean and Barcelona. Staff helpful, English OK.. Room spacious and well maintained. Bed huge and very comfortable. Effective air conditioning. Very nice looking interior of hotel.

Main disadvantages: The wireless internet -- which was free -- was very weak in our room, going in and out in a frustrating way. We often had to go to the lobby to use our computer.

Main advantages: Lovely place. Location seems out of the way at first, but in fact the aerial cableway -- very exciting -- goes almost directly from the hotel to the beaches at Barceloneta. And, a short walk up the hill goes to the funicular railway to the Paral.lel metro station, with easy access to all of Barcelona. Beautiful pool for relaxing after a hot day exploring the city, and the hotel is architecturally amazing, in a modern style.

Main disadvantages: The acces to the hotel. If you use your personal bike to visit the city during your stay in Barcelona, is very difficult to climb the hill up to the hotel. This is also available for walking from the hotel to the city and back. (the closest metro station is Paralel).

Main advantages: The excellent connection to the internet, the splendind view over the city, the superb terrace with seaside view, the bath:) and ... a proper room at the end of a busy day.

Main disadvantages: Organization: staff was not well instructed by management, so, sometimes it took some patience to get the right information.

Main advantages: A splendid view, a lot of space, as well outside as in the rooms and a great swimming pool.

Main disadvantages: We booked two Deluxe rooms one for our 3 kids and one for us. The room and bathroom we had was half the size of our kids room and our bathroom had just one sink and no separate toilet and was very small. It felt like a single room and also had only 1 bathrobe hanging in the bathroom. After asking, the hotel staff kept convincing us that they were both deluxe rooms. We did enjoy our rooms but feel it was incorrect to charge us the same price for both rooms. For a hotel price like this we also feel there should be a coffee/tea maker and more amenities. The mattresses were too hard for us. When you go to the restaurant for dinner take your time, service is slow.

Main advantages: The location was perfect and we enjoyed the funicular which was steps away from the hotel. We loved the views from our rooms and the balcony. We also enjoyed having our breakfast outside in the restaurant. The big bathroom and the shower were incredible. The free bottles of water in the room were nice, there is no sign for it nor will anyone tell you, you will only find out on your minibar price list.
