Main disadvantages: Common spa facilities need some refurbishing to make them more adequate
to a five star hotel. Now they look a bit run down and old. The special
services of "The Level" are not well explained and in our case not
available, closed during Christmas holidays.
Main advantages: Centrally located, close to everything. Very spacious and nicely
furnished and decorated suite for a good price.

Main disadvantages: The room was really noisy. Mainly it was noise from the streets but it
was 9th floor so I just wonder what it was like in the lower floors. The
windows didn't close properly which made the noise issue even worse.
Also the lock of the room door was damaged, looking like someone had
broke into the room. The public parking really is not anyhow related to
the hotel and the hotel staff refused to give any help when I had some
language (I had to make a one month contract for parking) issues with
the parking staff.
Main advantages: The staff was great and they made me feel like I was really welcome.
They were not too official and not too relaxed either, I think. The
breakfast had a wonderfull selection of food.

Main disadvantages: Hotels in the center of Madrid has a general problem with traffic noise. Melia Princesa is no exception. My room had in addition problem with slamming noise from the doors in the neighboring rooms. The restaurant at site has room for improvements in layout as well as service. One evening I ordered a bottle of wine with my dinner and got a cracked glass. They replaced my glass but not the wine ...
Main advantages: Location, size of room and layout of the bath. I stayed in Grand Premier room for 12 days - i.e.I extended my original from 5 to 12 nights so my overall experience with the hotel is very good.

Main disadvantages: Ridiculous having to pay for the spa/wellness area. Even for only printing my boarding pass they wanted me to pay for the internet but in the end I was "allowed" to use a PC in the business area. To my taste the room interior was a bit too modern - certainly something to get used to.
Main advantages: very central location (2 mins walk to the next tube station), huge and varied breakfast buffet, very comfortable beds, reasonably sized rooms (including the bathroom). Although from the outside looking very grey, a huge block of concrete, the inside is very modern and everything seems to have been recently refurbished.

Main disadvantages: we called front desk a couple times when things in the room were broken/we weren't sure how they worked, but there were not very helpful these times. both times they didn't know and sent someone up to the room who did not speak english (albeit good intentions) and it was ultimately a waste of everyone's time. very good experiences though talking with the front desk in person.
Main advantages: room was truly outstanding, we were really glad to have taken the upgrade. front desk also had great recommendations for food

Main advantages: Feels more like a 4 stars, but still clean and confortable. Staff from reception to restaurant just don't know how to greet customers with friendly smile from the moment we walked in to the moment we checked out.

Main disadvantages: Service at the front desk is sometimes helpful, sometimes rather brisk. The front desk also failed to provide the agreed wake-up call. This created a rushed morning when we had to catch a plane.
