IFA Buenaventura Hotel is located 500 metres from the beach in Playa del Inglés, on Gran Canaria’s south coast. It has an outdoor pool surrounded by palm trees. Main disadvantages: Thought very carefully about anything negative -- nothing major I would say ---- our room was in a quiet area of the hotel and was a fair distance from reception (not a problem for us) but there was no tea/coffee making facilities -- to bring a coffee or tea to our room would not have been possible, would either have spilled or gone cold --- thankfully I had the foresight to take a kettle with me -- so prob solved -- nice to sit on our spacious balcony with a nice cup of tea, looking over the garden. --- Also when we asked to have Scottish notes changed, we were told bluntly they don't accept Scottish money, reason given was that banks do not accept -- however after speaking to a local we were told to go to The Youmba Centre -- I think the shop was called harri's and sons inside they had a western union desk, the guy there gave us a good exchange rate without question -- we informed the reception at the hotel, so that they could pass this useful info to other Scottish guests

Main advantages: My friend and I had a wonderful time -- entertainment was fab - This hotel has something for everyone. Staff were all lovely, not least our room maid Ramona a beautiful lady. I felt it was like a mini resort in it's own right -- rooms were spacious -- would def go back and from booking.com we got a fantastic deal. Playa del Ingles is a typical holiday resort, our stay at Beunaventura maid our holiday special-- best bar outside the hotel we found was Mackers bar (Irish pub) just a short walk -- 3 course meal 8.95 euro local beers and spirits 1 euro and lovely friendly people to boot also provided good entertainment.

Main disadvantages: The Hotel and services were excellent, the biggest problem was parking. The Hotel needs it own customer parking. The Traffic Police were around the outside of the Hotel towing cars away for illegal parking, even though there was no place to park! The parking issue seems to be a major gran canaria problem!

Main advantages: The Hotel was very comfortable and spacious. All facilities were excellent.

Main disadvantages: If you were not able to choose a room, you could end up with one over the restaurant, which was noisy in the morning and evening., The rooms were clean but needed a little touch up with painting. The fact you had to pay wine with your all inclusive evening meal. The food was very Boring. If I stayed again I wouldnt pay for all inclusive.

Main advantages: Its close proximity to the beach despite looking further away on the map. The hotel catered for all age groups, evening entertainment was enjoyable,the two swimming pools offered choice. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful,even allowing us to look at a room before deciding which one we would like. The choice of coffe bar,snack bar, and bar area. In fact if you wanted to just relax at hotel you wouldnt have to leave. everything was there.

Main disadvantages: The beds were very uncomfortable.

Main advantages: The lack of all inclusive was a negativee, and the rooms were nothing special. While it was affordable the food and dinning was not that great. Mostly older people, not for young couples.

Colin Dublin, Ireland - Rest with friends

Main disadvantages: No air con, no iron or tea making factilites, WiFi only available in the hotel lobby and you have to pay, must rent safe deposit in room (max €3,000 cover), trouble getting sun beds when busy.

Main advantages: Stayed for 1 week in Nov. Booked a double room expecting a double but received a twin bed. Were told "double" meant 2 persons! Finally got a double bed on the East side of the building on 8th floor - fantastic sea views and morning sunrise. Room spacious but no air con! Only the hotel lobby has air con. Leaving door open lets breeze through room. Sleeping with patio doors open each night helped too. Wasn't dissapointed with the food. We were hb and there was plenty of options for breakfast and dinner, but we had to eat out a couple of places to spice things up. The two pool areas were nice, but don't expect 1st come 1st served as beds get reserveed very early on. Good location with 15 min walk to beach.
