Main advantages: We liked most things about the hotel. We particularly liked the location and the the staff. The views from our room and the restaurant were fantastic. We were able to set out on numerous walks directly from the hotel.

Main disadvantages: If fault could be found it would be the following. It was a pity that food could not be served around the pool at lunchtime. We understand that it would mean more staff perhaps and this is where our other complaint lies. The first 4 nights seem to work ok but dinner on other nights was slow and there was a shortage of staff. Pedro was trying to handle it well and he was an excellent waiter and very friendly but the other staff didnt have his flair. Breakfast time the coffee seemed lukewarm and it would make sense to have an urn or similar at the food area to save trekking back and forth to the kitchen to fill flasks which dont keep coffee that hot. We had to ask the waiter to serve it at the beginning and to ask him to top it up. At one dinner (4 of us) I asked for salmon which was not cooked properly and having waited a long time too. My husband had rack of lamb and our firends had fish, which was lukewarm too. We assume the food had been hanging around waiting for the rack of lamb to cook. I had to ask for my salmon to be cooked more (raw inside). We did not eat there the following night for fear of a repetition. So all in all the restaurant service needs to be addressed with more staff trained like Pedro.

Main advantages: We liked Costa D'or because we stayed there 40 years ago for our honeymoon and wanted to return. We were not disappointed as we had a balcony view and the bed was comfortable and bathroom adequate if a bit cramped. We liked the fact that you didnt have to find alternative venues for dinner as the food was excellent but will comment on service in space below. It was very peaceful save for one noisy child on one day. The pool and lounging area were just right. All in all we had a good time and would return again.

Main disadvantages: The problem I had with my room (I think it was #22 or #122) was that it had a bad drain smell in the bathroom and if you left the bathroom door open it would contaminate the whole room.

Main advantages: I loved the dining terrace with its beautiful view and the pool with the same gorgeous view.
