Set opposite Atapuerca Convention Centre, Abba Burgos is 400 metres from Burgos Cathedral. All rooms include free use of the heated indoor swimming pool, sauna, gym and paddle tennis court. Situated on the Santiago Pilgrimage Route, the Abba Burgos is next to Castillo Park. It offers superb views over the city, and Burgos Castle is a 5-minute walk away. The bright, air-conditioned rooms have satellite TV, a safe and a minibar. There is a work desk and trouser press, and the private bathroom comes with amenities and a hairdryer. The Abba restaurant serves fresh, seasonal dishes and features a garden terrace with views over the city. There is a café-bar, and room service is available. Main disadvantages: We had a snack in bar, as restaurant was closed for dinner. Not a big problem, as we arrived late (although our experience of prior Spanish trips, would have put us in restaurant at prime local dining time - around 22:00).

Main advantages: Secure parking, very good room and bathroom. Reception staff spoke good English, and were very friendly and pleasant.

Main disadvantages: My only wish was that the staff dealing with guests had more knowledge of English.

Main advantages: Great service from front desk manager . Very helpful waitress in dining room, Rebbeca? She found us a table even though the restaurant was full. Wonderful bar maid, Casilda, made us feel very welcome.

Main advantages: Not the first time we have stayed and won't be the last. Probably the best value for money hotels i have stayed in Europe. The bathroom toiletries have to be seen to be believed for both him & her. Location quiet and hotel catered to the needs of our dog as well with a ground floor garden room. 5 minute walk from Cathedral and town centre.

Main disadvantages: It was extremely hard to find!! It does not seem to be signposted in the city tho most other hotels are. We spent 40 minutes driving round trying to find it and in the end were escorted by some kind local policemen! I don't think we would ever have found it otherwise. The rooms were not clearned until the afternoon which was annoying. On one occasion we had to make a special request for toilet paper as it had not been replenished. There was little in the way of toiletries in the bathroom - far less than in other Abba hotels.

Main advantages: It was an added bonus having a balcony to our room - a huge plus. Alos great to have a swimming pool and gym as well as paddle tennis. The hotel is well located near the cathedral

Main advantages: The hotel waas very nice and we chose it because they allowed pets, most hotels we stop at on our way to the costa del sol allow dogs everywhere except here they are limited, however, we did haave a small garden with the room which was great. We arrived on a sunday and could not eat in the restaurant as it closes on a sunday like everything else in Burgos- Burgos is a beautiful city and next time we will come back during the week to try some of the fab restaurants that are available including the hotel.

Main disadvantages: Useful if check in time could be brough slightly earlier to 1pm (Rather than 2 pm), but not a major issue. No kettle in room.

Main advantages: Abba Burgos was a bit of a climb if carrying suitcases from the bus station. However, once we got there the trip was worth it. Hotel staff were friendly and clear at all times, speaking both SPanish and English. There was no iron or kettle, which surprised us for a 4 star hotel, but we asked for an iron and one was provided. Check- in time was permitted after 2pm, so we had to wait a while. However, hotel staff allowed us to stay in reception adn locked away our luggage. Pool was nice, but a little small. Bedrooms were clean and very comfortable matresses. The best sleep we had wwas in Abba Burgos.

Main disadvantages: The car parking is secure but expensive ( 16 euros a night) and extremely difficult to access. The manouevering space inside makes parking a difficult task. When we booked in the reception staff's English was limited ...hence actually getting in to underground car park was made even more problematical.

Main advantages: Very good breakfast...well located close to the historic centre of Burgos. We stayed in the new annex of the hotel albeit a long way from reception. Our room was very comfortable..well appointed and included an excellent book on Castille/Leon...informative/useful.

Main disadvantages: Hotel car parking is expensive and really should be complementary, given its garage size and being on-site. Although a 4 star hotel there is no mini bar or in-room tea/coffee facilities. The 'coffee shop' has limited food available out of normal (Spanish) eating hours. Some check in staff had limited English (not a problem for us). Internet access fees were high (best to go into Burgos to an internet cafe).

Main advantages: The pool, sauna and gym facilities were good, especially the pool. location is conveniently close to old town centre (few minutes walk). Good quiet location with good views of city.

Main advantages: Location for getting into city centre excellent. Rooms were good comfortable ad clean. Restauraunt good value interesting and well presented food.

Main advantages: Second stay here. Ferry leaves on Monday so most people stay over Sunday night. Unfortunately, restaurant is closed. Although bar open for toasted sandwiches when you have driven all day it would be nice to have a proper meal.

Main disadvantages: The partition walls were too thin, so noise was an issue for us for a brief period.

Main advantages: An extremely comfortable hotel in an excellent location. The room and adjoining bathoom were spotless. The dining experience was good. Staff throughout the hotel were very professional; tho' reception desk could be perfunctory if very efficient.

Main advantages: We went to a wedding in this beautiful city. The location of the hotel was great, with views of the Gothic Cathedral. Friendly staff and very helpful. We asked for a room with balcony and it was arranged very quickly. Good facilities and excelent food.

Main disadvantages: Food was only available from either room service and the bar until 23h00, what is not too convenient if you are arriving late

Main advantages: Location is great, free access to swimming pool, fitness and sauna until 23h definitely a plus. Parking availability (indoor and outdoor) during what seemed to be a busy weekend was also appreciated.
