Main advantages: The staff were terrifically friendly and very helpful, lovely people. Everything was very easy and efficient with great service and high levels of cleanliness. Our room was luxurious and comfortable which was perfect after a 17 hour flight, as was a trip to the Spa and a massage. Great stay, good start to the New Year.

Krasimir Istanbul, Turkey - Individual tour

Main disadvantages: First thing that surprises you when you enter in the hotel room is how small it is. For such expensive place I was expecting large room. I stayed as a solo traveler although I booked and paid for a double room. I wonder how could two persons live there in such a small place. The room is so small that it makes you feel to not spend too long time in it, but to go outside on the street. The second very big disappointment was the breakfast. May be because it is the winter but first time I see in a hotel so poor variety of fruits and vegetables. In fact there were no fruits on breakfast and just few vegetables. Forget about olives and other typical for the Mediterranean things to eat. To pay for such poor breakfast 26 eu when you can buy at every street corner better sandwich really decreased a lot my first opinion about the hotel. I do recommend to everybody reading this to avoid the breakfast and try the small restaurants nearby the hotel.

Main advantages: The hotel's location is at perfect place. Everything that is famous in Hamburg is so close. To travel from the airport to the hotel costs less than 25 eu. To travel from the hotel to Reeperbahn costs less than 10 eu. All the shopping centers are nearby. First time I see bose sound system in a hotel room and I really enjoyed it. Everything is extremely clean in this hotel. The staff is very friendly. They satisfy all requests in time.

Main disadvantages: Just a small matter - we found there was too much furniture in the room. It made moving about hazardous.

Main advantages: As we were on a city trip, I found the location and the quality of the hotel excellent. It was very easy to travel by bus and train from the hotel. We had been in Hamburgh on a number of occasions and this was the best location for us. We would stay at the Sofitel Hamburg again.

Main disadvantages: The breakfast is far too expensive with no cheaper option, however, there are several Bäckerei within just a couple of blocks. One of the staff members gave us bad directions on the map, so we spent a few hours being lost.

Main advantages: The staff were very helpful. The hotel location is good, only a short distance to both the city center and to the waterfront. The bed is extremely comfortable (and they offer to remove the extra soft topping for people who do not enjoy that).

Ken Sydney, Australia - Rest with children

Main disadvantages: Just kettle was not too clean and the room say non-smoking but I think people have smoked there before. Especially smell it from the pillow. Internet connection is a bit patchy in different part of room.

Main advantages: The location is close to all the shops and action since there was a festival night on. Room design is great and hotel ambience is good.

Main disadvantages: having breakfast on a sundaymorning with extremely irritating sort of nervous jazz"muzak": the first time that i experienced that.and not enough people at the breakfast: no cookpeople during 30 minutes for baking the eggs....: first time after several visits that i see this mistakes. parking: their is one garage but my car (full of material for a market) stayed outside without warning me, not funny

Main advantages: comfort, for bussiness sofitel has a recognisable way of keeping a hotel everywhere which is good.

Main disadvantages: We had a little problem with things promised in our reservation which were not in the room but all was resolved to our satisfaction ultimately . It took a bit too much of our time and effort to accomplish this however.

Main advantages: It was a lovely room and the location was very good for access to the UBahn and the SBahn. Also very accessible to the lake and the shopping streets.The bar staff were also exceptional and made us feel very welcome .

Main advantages: Great location for access to city centre and transport links. Hotel staff very helpful. Spacious, comfortable room - very calm, quiet and relaxing. Loved the spa area. Thoroughly enjoyed our city break there.
