It is operated now in second generation under the direction of the Proepper family and is considered to be one of the most beautiful listed buildings in Monschau. The interior of the hotel has a rustic charm providing a cosy atmosphere.

Travel information

By car:
- From the Aachen motorway junction, take the A44 in the direction of Lüttich/Liege.
- Exit Aachen/Lichtenbusch and take the B258 in the direction of Monschau.
- At the 1st roundabout in Monschau take the 2nd exit, towards Parking Burgau/röm.
- Glashütte (Trier). Follow the road around the old town and take a left at the next crossroads.
- Guests are entitled to drive right up to the hotel entrance.

Main disadvantages: the fact that it did not have a lobby where you can seat before going to your room

Main advantages: The fact that it was an old traditional house transformed in a hotel, it's geografical position in the center of the medieval town, it's old traditional furniture and traditional decorationan.

Main advantages: The rooms were clean, large but basic. In our groups case we had a room each, albeit with toilet and shower along the corridor; which was perfect for us as we had the floor to ourselves, this being a mid November short break. The staff were helpful and spoke good English. The continental breakfast was first class. We had a very enjoyable stay at 'Monschau' and the Hotel Royal.

Main advantages: Location is just in the middle of the village. And you feel that you are staying in such a historical village as it is typical village house. You can find what you expect from 3 star hotel.
