Hotel information

The hotel is located on Kirchstraße 33 in one of the oldest buildings of the city
Monschau. It is the first middle-class house that was rebuilt after the Geldrische war when the city was destroyed in 1543. It was built in 1597 by Christoph von Rolshausen and his second wife Catharina von Palant. Both families belong to the ancient nobility of the Rhine region.

Each room is a unique jewel, equipped with a bathroom and all common facilities.

Food & Beverage

The restaurant has a long tradition which goes back to 1597. It is located in the basement and features vaulted ceilings and has excellent wines. This is the ideal place to discover the charm of the past. The hotel offers delicious meals, tasty wines and fresh draught beer - the original Monschauer Zwickelbier. The hotel can provide medieval dinners for groups.

The restaurant is closed from Mondays to Wednesdays, and is only open from Thursdays to Sundays. Hot meals are only served from 18:00 to 20:30.

Area information

Monschau has many interesting attractions and activities to offer.
You can go hiking, swimming or riding within the breathtaking landscape.
The nature park Nordeifel fascinates its visitors throughout all the seasons with impressive pristine natural surroundings.

The famous Red House is located only a few metres from the hotel. The region is also well known due to the white water race courses that take place every year as well as due to the longest summer toboggan run in Germany.

Travel information

By car:
Arriving from Cologne, take the A4 motorway as far as Aachen. Continue on the A44 towareds Lüttich (Liege). Take the exit
Aachen–Lichtenbusch and continue on the B258, following the signposts to Monschau. Once you have passed through the district of Imgenbroich you will reach a winding road followed by a roundabout, where you should turn left. Travel along Laufenstraße until you reach a car park. In order to enter, press the button marked "Kurzzeitparken". Directly behind the car park, turn right into Schaufenberg, and then after 100 metres turn left into Bergstraße. Follow the course of the road until you reach the church. Immediately after the church you find a small car park. The hotel lies opposite this.

Cancellation
If cancelled or modified up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled or modified later, 80 percent of all nights will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.

Children and extra beds
All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 29 per night per person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.

Public parking is possible at a location nearby (reservation is not possible) and costs EUR 5 per day.
