A romantic hotel in the historical part of Brno with excellent cuisine on the basis of Italian and French specialities.
The interior decorations are supplemented with antique furniture and a set of paintings of both modern and old artists. Hotel Royal Ricc is an original baroque house that was built in 1596. It was completely renovated in 1998.
The hotel is situated in the heart of Brno city, five minutes’ walking distance from the very famous St. Peter's and St. Paul's cathedral. There are many historical monuments and places of interest like Špilberk, a royal castle from the 13th century, and St. James, which is a late Gothic church.
Brno is the second largest city in Czech Republic. Nowadays, it is an important industrial and business centre, thanks to the Brno Exhibition Centre.

| Main disadvantages: Decor is rather dark and could feel a ittle oppressive if you at all that way inclined.
There were no walk in showers, only showers with a bath. My mother is partially disabled and could not climb over the edge of the bath to use the shower. So she had to strip wash for four days!
There should be more than one room in a hotel of this quality with a walk in shower. |

| Main disadvantages: Only one bedside light provided per double room (and the wall lights are v low wattage, so it's nearly impossible to read using them). We were, in the end, given the (very heavy) lamp from the Reception desk (but had to carry it + our requested extra pillows upstairs to our room ourselves). |

| Main disadvantages: I felt the breakfast table needed to be refreshed a bit more often. Hot food was often gone by the time we arrived. Overall though the breakfast was nice. I would also liked to have had better broadband speed available in the room - it was fine in the bar/lounge though. |

| Main disadvantages: Unavoidable, but smoking is allowed virtually anywhere in the Czech Republic and therefore the rooms are permeated with the smell of stale smoke. Smoke also seeps through the door frame into the room from the lobby below at night. |
| Main advantages: An absolutely beautiful hotel in the center of Brno at an affordable price. Fantastic breakfast buffet with a great selection of food. The interior design of the hotel is very unique and the rooms are very spacious. The bathroom was clean and updated. Wi-fi was included in the price. The restaurant had the best food and the service was excellent. |

| Main disadvantages: If you arrive by driving a car it can be difficult to find parking unless you are willing to pay 15 euro for 12 hours of secure parking or park on the street 10 minutes or so from the hotel. Prices for hotels of this quality are higher in Brno than Prague so expect ot pay more. |
