This luxurious historic hotel dates back to the 14th century and is conveniently located directly in the heart of the Old Town of Prague, mere minutes from the Old Town Square. Completely reconstructed in 2008, the house was formerly known as “At Seven Candlesticks” and “At the Red Deer”. The entire courtyard is protected by the UNESCO as a world heritage site. The 2 former names reflect the fact that during the late Middle Ages 2 separate houses stood here. Both residences were joined together to create the current property. The whole house is characterized by Renaissance arcades and portals, providing an ancient and traditional atmosphere. The luxurious suites are decorated with hand-painted historical beams dating back to the 17th century.

The strictly non-smoking rooms include a range of modern amenities and functional furniture (including Metamorphis furniture inspired by the Spanish succession period), historical hand-painted or beamed ceilings, jacuzzis and massage showers in the suites and apartments. A third guest can be accommodated in a standard bed in junior suites or double rooms. A free WLAN or LAN internet access is available.

All rooms are equipped with a mini-bar and a free tea/coffee making facilities.

Food & Beverage

Everybody can find a little corner for himself in the small and cosy café on the ground floor. The summer terrace is available from April to the end of October, offering a view of the spires of the Týn church and providing an enjoyable location for a business lunch, a cup of coffee or a glass of vintage wine. Choose from delicious meals of both the Bohemian and the international cuisine and from quality Bohemian or foreign wines.

Area information

The hotel is located on the UNESCO-listed Ungelt Square, 50 metres from Tyn Cathedral, 100 metres from the Jewish quarter and the Old Town Square with the astronomical clock, 250 metres from Wenceslas Square, the Municipal House and the Powder Gate and 1,2 km from Charles Bridge.

By Car:
- Drive from the Moldau River into Revoluční Street.
- Pass the traffic lights and go straight into Dlouhá Street and follow the road until you reach the large Kotva department store on the right.
- Turn right as if you were driving into the car park, but continue around and follow the street to its end.
- Then turn right into Rybná and immediately left into Jakubská Street.
- At the end of this street, in front of you, you can drive through the gate into the Tyn courtyard.

By Public Transport:
From the Staroměstská A-underground Old Town station:
- walk along Kaprova Street.
- Cross the Old Town Square and walk along the narrow street near the Tyn Church into the Tyn courtyard.

From the Náměstí Republiky B-underground station or tram station on Republic Square:
- go around the Kotva department store into its second entrance on the opposite side.
- Then continue into Jakubská Street.
- At the end of this street, you will enter the old gate into Tyn Court.

Cancellation
If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Main disadvantages: Taxi drivers.

Main advantages: Linda is fantastic. The location in Prague old town is ideal. Just make sure that customers are warned about shonky taxi drivers who will rip them off.

Main disadvantages: Metamorphis Excellent has no lift so would be no good for anyone disabled. However, I believe the Metamorphis across the road has a lift which is also a lovely hotel as I stayed there 4 years ago.

Main advantages: The position of the hotel was excellent - just off the Old Town Square and the rooms were spacious and clean

Main disadvantages: If the hotel had an elevator it might have been more convenient, but honestly it wouldn't affect our choice to stay here in the future.

Main advantages: Beautiful, spacious room (omg...the bathroom alone is worth the stay). Friendly and helpful hotel staff. Our favorite hotel during our two-week stay in Europe!

Main disadvantages: The breakfast buffet was disappointing and the expresso machine was disgusting, it did not even taste like coffee.

Main advantages: The room had a nice patio, the beds were comfortable, the large bathtub was very much appreciated, and the location was great if you like to be in the heart of old town prague!

Main disadvantages: Four flights of stairs and no elevator was a bit challenging after a long day of walking about the city -- but good exercise. What was more bothersome is that we couldn't use international calling cards from the hotel and had to go to outside pay phones to call home/office.

Main advantages: Great location, right next to Old Town Square and within walking distance of most top sights.

Main disadvantages: The only thing we did not like were the beds.....way tooooo hard. Itseemed as if there were no mattress, just the spring box. Perhaps youcan fix that? Otherwise, it was all good....

Main advantages: The location was par excellence....the staff very efficient and helpfuland the fact that the stay included breakfast was another plus. Oh, andthe shower....my daughter loved the fact it felt like bathing in awaterfall! The breakfast was plentiful and varied, with courteous staff.We loved the fact we were able to walk everywhere, while in the veryheart of the Old Town. A great experience, one we hope to replicate inthe near future.

Main disadvantages: Stairs to breakfast. No lift. Whilst the room was lovely nothing on the website alerted me to the fact that you occupied more than one building in the square, I hated having to go out of the building to reception and breakfast. Also didn't enjoy the lack of a lounge/bar area to meet with friends also in the hotel. What sort of so say 4 star hotel refuses to serve residents a drink at 11pm in the evening!!

Main advantages: The furniture and fittings in the bedroom and bathroom were excellent. The quality of the breakfast was also very good.
