Founded in 1701 by Johann Georg Pupp, who originally was a confectioner, the Grandhotel Pupp already accommodated such famous guests like Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Johann Sebastian Bach and Richard Wagner.

| Main advantages: We stayed with our two children and also invited my parents. The hotel staff was excellent. At breakfast the personnel was less proffessional. Anyway beautiful hotel! |

| Main disadvantages: Spa and workout facility dated. Some other areas of hotel need to be
renovated. Too many smoking areas especially in the most beautiful
public areas. Would have liked the nearby skiing only 30km away to be
easier to access. |
| Main advantages: Hotel is a classic hotel and architecturally disctinct. Enjoyed the
room, setting in Karlovy Vary, excellent food. Some staff went out of
their way to make stay more enjoyable. Apprectated the room upgrade. |

| Main advantages: First of all you nee to know history of the hotel. It celebrated 3rd century 10 yearsa ago so you can add this one to 'must see' list. We are travelling really much but I can easily say that they have the most helpful staff (especially front dest part) I have ever seen. I lost my laptop on the way of prag to karlovy vary and they make approximately 8 phone calls more than 30 minutes and they finally find it. For location I can say that, hotel is not in the city center, city center is near the hotel! Perfect |

| Main disadvantages: The fitness center is really need to look at. Old equipment, bad
flooring and positioning of that old equipment is not proper. No hiegne
in the room. The receptionist at the enterance of the fitness un trained
and not helpful. |

feel the staff at that particular place is more professional. The
history of the hotel, worth to stay in. |

| Main disadvantages: Tv programmes are rather limited, no music video channel. The cost of
evening meal is astronomical, even for a 5* hotel. |
| Main advantages: We have visited on previous occasions and are pleased to say that
standards of service have improved greatly, all staff are pleasant and
helpful and speak good English. It would be a good idea to present
visitors with a booklet and dvd (just like Savoy resort) outlining the
colourful history, famous visitors etc. We would have liked to see the
Great Hall, imperial bathroom and other attractions, at least on dvd. |

| Main advantages: Gorgeous grand hotel. Beautiful huge, spacious room with marble
bathroom was exceptional. All toiletries provided. All areas of the old
hotel were very beautiful, spacious and well maintained. Restaurants, a
cafe, bars, reading/sitting room - Every where you looked, there was
something beautiful. Lots of lovely art. My husband and I enjoyed ice
tea and beer in one of the bar areas served by a very delightful,
friendly young man; then later, a delicious gourmet dinner downstairs
in the Becher's Bar. Breakfast was exceptional! We were only here one
night so didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the Spa area. Only issue
was a very hard, firm bed. |

| Main advantages: a) Thank you Bookings for your excellent service. The price which
included breafast was excellent for this 5 star hotel. The whole
Karlovy Vary experience is fairytale. And I'm looking forward to
spending at least a week there next time around. The food at the
Pupp could be better and we strongly recommend the very beautiful
Embassy Restraunt/Hotel,,just 3 minutes walk from the Pupp. It's
old world charm and service is exceptional. The portions are large
and every meal is amazing and they will discreetly put any left
overs in a doggy bag for you.. The Embassy is fine dining at very
affordable prices. |

| Main disadvantages: It was the end of season so hotel was kind of empty. Karlovy Vary also. We were generally dissapointed with a Karlovy Vary offerings. We thought this town is a spa center of Czech republic, but there are no pools and world of sauna anywhere or very poor content.Though sociologically very interesting town. |
| Main advantages: The hotel is the "Stara dama" (the old lady) among hotels. Such a luxurious history is rarely seen in hotels. This is the only hotel in Karlovy Vary that i would return to. It is not modernised and recuperated but it was my honor being its guest for a while. |

| Main disadvantages: This hotel was not like it was portrayed in the movie "Last Holiday" starring Queen Latifah. I think that it has lost its luster of yesteryear. The rooms were clean. It was a very very quiet place, almost spooky feeling, with a smell all over, probably because the hotel has a long history. The casino only had 2 people in there, and the roulette dealers were not nice. I also tried the spa and relax massage center. Most or all hotels in Karlovy Vary do not have real mineral spring water. However, one spa in the center of town, about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, has a pool with real mineral spring water. The hotel people can give you directions. Overall, it was not a bad place. |
| Main advantages: The breakfast buffet was pretty good, and the service was excellent. The front desk staff and all personnel were great and were helpful. The rooms were large, with very high ceilings. |

| Main disadvantages: Rate was very high. They charged me for curtain full price due to incident that caused little damage which can be fixed in ten minutes. For me it is not a matter of money, it is a matter of professional treatment for guests who came on 7 hours flight to enjoy the country stay. |

| Main disadvantages: internet was too expensive and didnt work(was veeeery slow). When I booked a room in the hotel I payed for parking too, but when was check out, hotel was asking to pay for parking one more time. Its good that I had a printout of my booking confirmation, where was written that I have already payed for parking and then they returned the money. |

| Main disadvantages: Internet access was not free even though it is advertised as such. 500 Crowns (about 20 Euros) for an internet connection that was absolutely terrible. Luckily I did not need it for anything important. |
