The new Akcent hotel is situated on the 7th floor of a 1930s' office building in Functionalist style right at the Anděl metro station and boasts splendid views over Prague from all rooms. It is situated in a quiet part of the Smichov district, from where several tram lines bring you right into the centre of the Golden City. The picturesque Lesser Town is just a 15-minute walk away. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.

Main advantages: Price was reasonable (40++euro). Location is superb (exit from the right stairs if metro is coming from Prague main station direction). Staffs were friendly and helpful (I didn't have to pay deposit for borrowing an umbrella). Tea or coffee for 50 cents is very fair!

Main disadvantages: Very basic, no-frills hotel. No bathtub, only standing shower. Pillows were flat n useless. Towels were raggedy n smelled of smoke. Tv had maybe 4 English channels: cnn, Discovery Travel and 2 showing useless D-grade movies. Very limited variety at breakfast but constantly refilled. There was not enough counter space in the room, I would have liked some sort of side table. Kettle n cups provided but no coffee or tea packets. "Double" bed was 2 single beds pushed together.

Main advantages: Check-in and check-out were quick n efficient. When I requested extra pillows and iron, they were promptly delivered to my room. Hotel is literally next to the metro. Location is far away from the noisy crowds of the tourist center but in a very safe neighborhood. 3 blocks from a big mall with a hypermart. Free internet had good speeds. They stowed our bags after check out which was very helpful since our flight was much later in the day. Receptionist also helped us book tours.

Main disadvantages: I did hate that it really, really smelled like smoke in the room.

Main advantages: It was a really clean hotel. It was no frills but it had nothing that I wanted to complain about at all. It was great. It's not the place to go if you're looking for luxury but it was a good deal and I felt safe and it was immaculately clean.

Sidney Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Rest with children

Main advantages: This is my fourth stay at Akcent Hotel, a favourite hotel of mine. Its location is good and next to the metro station Andel (access right next to the hotel entrance). Restaurants nearby, shopping mall, buses and tram stops just steps away. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and the free internet access is a plus. Breakfast is rather good.
