Main disadvantages: Smell of smoke in room that comes through the vents

Main advantages: Overall I had a very good experience at Shatan Hotel. The staff were very friendly, and helpful, the hotel room was very clean and housekeepers came daily to clean up. The location is convenient, not that long of a walk to major attractions, right next door to Jinshan park and forbidden city. The hotel is always so quiet, Im' amazed! The breakfast in the restaurant was so-so, I prefer Alley's cafe down the road with delicious breakfast and coffee! The only issue I had was that you could smell smoke in the room if someone else was smoking in another room. It's annoying if you're not a smoker. I recommend this hotel.

Main disadvantages: Female on tour desk had no interest in helping us. Restaurant not appealing. Room cleaned poorly often.

Main advantages: Proximity to Forbidden City, Spacious suite. TV over bed. Comfort of bed. Airconditioning. Helpful desk staff, speaking English. Internet free to room

Viorel Bucharest, Romania - Group tour

Main disadvantages: The fact that the current and the warm water were cut for 10 hours in day time though I paid fully comfort.

Main advantages: It is an interesting hotel close to the Beihai Park. The street however is difficult to be found by taxi drivers and the close environment is not very clean with to many low quality boutiques.
