Main disadvantages: The only downside at The Continental is the fact there are no tea and
coffee making facilities in each room. Coffee machines are available
on each floor but at a cost which we found to be penny pinching to say
the least.
Main advantages: The big attraction is the fact The Continental is in the centre of
Lausanne. All modes of transport are adjacent to the Hotel ensuring
there are no problems getting around this interesting city. The Hotel
staff on Reception were absolutely superb--very approachable
professional and extremely helpful.The room we stayed in overlooked the
lake and was spacious in design,quiet and very comfortable.The
continental breakfast included in the cost of the stay was excellent in
terms of quality and choice. Would certainly stop at this Hotel again.

Main advantages: The best thing about Hotel Continental is its location, next to the
metro, right opposite the mainline train station and within easy walking
distance of the shopping streets, restaurants and, importantly, station
supermarkets which are open late into the night. The rooms are fine,
modern and well-equipped. But don't come here for the views - it's
either a busy street or an office car park.

Warren , - Business trip
Main disadvantages: Room width too small for bed, only allowing 13 inches between foot of bed and the side wall where one must pass by the bed from bathroom side to desk/window/tv side. One has to awkwardly slip sideways by foot of bed continually in the room and risk toe/foot pain if in haste. My room's interior air conditioner unit was not functioning and only blowing as a fan, with the compressor not coming on to cool. It took three conversations with front desk over two days and two visits by maintenance before anyone accepted that the unit was faulty.
They all had the attitude that I was causing the problem by using the remote control improperly, although I told everyone I had not touched it. When maintenance finally realized the unit was faulty, they did move me but acted like they were doing me a favor. Air conditioner failures happen, but the attitude of several staff members to blame a guest first shows a predeliction that ought not be acceptable.
Main advantages: Convenient to train station, clean room, complete standard buffet breakfast.

Main disadvantages: As a business traveller, my only complaint is that there was no phone on the desk, and the desk was a bit too small. I found the bed a little to firm, but this is merely a matter of preference, not a genuine complaint.
Main advantages: Superb location. Right across the street from the train station. Excellent staff: friendly and professional. Close to many good places to eat and easy access to all transportation. I would not have to think twice about staying there again. Excellent value for the money. I spend half the year in travelling in Europe on business and have stayed in a lot of hotels. The Continental Hotel Lausanne exceeded my expectations.

Main disadvantages: Aircon was not functioning well and it was quite hot in the rooms. It was same case in another 2-3 rooms where my colleagues were staying asw well. When we explain to reception/staff, either they didnt understand or knew about it but couldnt do anything.
Main advantages: Very close to train station / Metro and restaurants.

Main advantages: Location! Right across from the station!! And we always come to Lausanne by train. Also, a lovely room with view of the lake, very nice bathroom and good soft pillows on the bed. The breakfast room is so cheerful and the staff very helpful. Food was delicious. The front desk staff was helpful too. We stayed here because of the price, which was lower than where we had stayed in Lausanne before, but now we will always stay at the Continental.

Main advantages: The rooms are very clean, staff are friendly and helpful. Its location is very good because it's just next to the train station and bus stops. The breakfast is quite good.
