Main disadvantages: There is great possibility to heart your fingers badly whilst opening the inside folding metal door of the old style elevator. Management has to keep the old style elevator but improve safety of the people.

Main advantages: Very good service and excellent staff. Position of hotel reference to entertainement and market places.

Main disadvantages: Room was not at 5* level. We had a disappointing experience with the concierge: asked him to book supper at midday on Sat. No booking was made and it was difficult to find a table at a recommended restaurant later...

Main advantages: Beautiful old building, wonderful situation

Main disadvantages: Often had to compete for small lifts with cleaners.

Main advantages: Location was useful for Christmas Markets and Eurostar and shopping. Quiet and comfortable, bathroom was very good. Liked having BBC channels on the TV.

Main disadvantages: Internet connection is not good in all areas.

Main advantages: I have visited Hotel Metroplole regulary last 8 years when I go to Brussels for business as well as for family/friends weekends. And I will continue to come back. The genuine, historical building with its grand atmosphere is a dream. The Hotel contains also the famous Metropole Cafe and exclusive restaurants. The hotel is situated in the midle of the center, shopping, museums and Metro. The rooms are big with big bathrooms and the major part of them are re-decorated in authentic stile with modern comfort, and have good lightening.Last time I stayed there, I was upgraded to a huge suite on two floors with two bathrooms. So bad I was only staying one night this time. The prices varies, but normally very good weekend rates.

Main disadvantages: My only negative comments would be that there were some minor issues with decoration and the rather untidy way the plugs and sockets for the lighting and tv were left visible. I also thought the towels a little threadbare given that this establishment is supposed to offer a 5 star experience If I was paying full price for this room I would have been a little disappointed.

Main advantages: We really enjoyed our stay, comfort and an excellent location make this a good choice.

Main advantages: Very convenient location - vicinity of places of tourist interest, opposite metro station - beautiful interiors, very good breakfast. Wi-fi operating - no problems, at no extra charge.

Antonio Torino, Italy - Group tour

Main advantages: The hotel boasts very impressive ancient-style common areas, with abundance of marble and wood, that make you feel like living in the good old times of high-society European tours. The hotel is located in the very heart of Brussels: on the back there is one of the main shopping streets, the Grand Place is a few blocks away, two large restaurant areas are nearby and a metro station is in front of the hotel (to quickly reach the various offices of the European Union). WiFi is free in all rooms and works really well. Rooms are very quiet, as they have a double door that stops the noise (if any) from the corridor.

Main advantages: The Hotel Metropole has a very beautiful lobby that dates from the late 1800'S. The sidewalk cafe is great too. The rooms vary. Our first room was very utilitarian and small, with a window facing a wall. When we asked to be moved, the hotel staff were very gracious. They showed us two possible new rooms--both much larger, with more elegant decor and with great views. Room service was very fast and helpful.

Main disadvantages: The breakfast is far below what can be expected from a traditional 5- star hotel and for such a high fee. It is not bad (rather of standard quality) with a noisy and lively restaurant. More like a 3-star experience that should be have half the cost (or simply be included in the room price).

Main advantages: Cleam and quiet rooms. Quick service. Impressive building.
