Area information

The Hotel Lucia is located close to the centre, only 10 minutes away by underground. The Johnstrasse underground station is only 100 metres away, and the Schönbrunn station is also in the immediate vicinity.

There are several traditional Austrian restaurants in the vicinity, including the Meisel and the Brandauer's Bieriger. Both are only a few minutes away.

The "Stadthalle" (large indoor arena) is only 800 metres away from the hotel, making it an ideal choice if you attend a concert or other event there.

Travel information

Subway station U3 "Johnstrasse" is 100m far away. It takes 10 minutes to get to the city centre.

Airport:
From the airport take the shuttle bus to Westbahnhof (western train station). At Westbahnhof change to the underground line U3 in the direction of Ottakring. At the second station - Johnstrasse - leave the train and exit the station at Huetteldorfer Strasse. At the exit turn right and after 150m you will reach Hotel Lucia.

Suebahnhof:
From Suedbahnhof take the tram no. 18 to Westbahnhof. At Westbahnhof please change to the underground line U3 in the direction of Ottakring. At the second station - Johnstrasse - leave the train and exit the station at Huetteldorfer Strasse. At the exit please turn right and after 150m you will reach Hotel Lucia.

A1 (from Salzburg/Munich):
At the end of the highway please keep driving straight until the palace of Schönbrunn, which you will see on your right-hand side. At this point please turn immediately left. In front of you, you will see a train bridge. Please drive below and on Johnstrasse. This street will have a crossing with Huetteldorfer Strasse. At this point please turn right and after 150m you will reach Hotel Lucia.

Main disadvantages: The hotel is located in a restricted parking area: this isn't claimed on the hotel website and the staff didn't tell us. The result is that I should pay a 20 € fine

Main advantages: The room was clean, the hotel is rather far from the city centre but close to Shinbrunn castel and to a metro station

Main disadvantages: No tea or coffee making facilities in the room although this is normal for Austria.

Main advantages: It's very convenient for getting to St Stephensplatz and it's a very pleasent hotel with very nice staff.

Main disadvantages: If rooms were provided with coffe/tee facilities the hotel would be perfect for me.

Main advantages: Staff is extremely helpful and the location is very nice: it happened to be rather quiet place and lively at the same time with shops and lots of transport nearby; it was comfortable stay: the room was spacious, bed was comfy and I could not hear my neighbors at all.

Main disadvantages: The hotel is away from the city center, in a mixed commmercial/residential neighborhood and 1 1/2 blocks from the U-bahn. One trades the inconvience of location for the value of the stay.

Main advantages: We were pleased with our stay. The room was large, clean and very modern. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The staff was very helpful.

Main disadvantages: Small parking with only 4 places

Main advantages: Big room and bathroom, with an extensible couch for my child (room 601, I don’t know if all the rooms have same size). Very good breakfast. Free wired internet access in rooms with excellent speed. Completely no smoker hotel.

Main disadvantages: we did get ground floor room due hotel being fully occupied - altought quiet, it lacks intimacy as peoples frequenlty came to garder for a smoke or chat.

Main advantages: good location and value for money. easy access to major objectives by subway or bus

Main disadvantages: They do not allow to use minibar for your own. It was hot in room when it was hot weather. They reserved some money from my card before my staying, this money is not available still.

Main advantages: Clean. New bathroom.Good breakfasts, helpfull staff, not far by underground from attractions,suppermarket was near.

Main disadvantages: Two things: first, the booking.com site says they have wired internet in the rooms. This is not true. There is one internet station in the lobby. That is it. Second problem: no air conditioning. If it's very hot, the rooms can be uncomfortable and if your room is on the street, the street noise can make having the windows open less than ideal. If you're staying in the winter, and don't need internet access, this is a very good hotel.
