Main advantages: I was concerned at some of the reviews we read here, but the hotel is amazing. Dating from the 14th century, it was very charming and atmospheric. The staff was cordial and very helpful. The rooms were a decent size and the bathrooms were modern and immaculate. The hotel does not have air conditioning (neither do most of the hotels or restaurants in Salzburg) as it is not generally needed. They do have room units that require a vent to the outside so the window cannot be fully closed. We had a room facing the courtyard and one above the entrance to the hotel on Judengasse. It was not hot when we were there (in August for the Salzburg Festspiel) so we were not troubled by heat or noise but you may (or may not) enjoy the glockenspiel of the Neue Residenz playing a Mozart minuet at 7 am...for 5 or so minutes. We would definitely stay there again! Oh, and the location cannot be beat!

Main advantages: i like the location of the hotel ,near every thing .i like the comfort in the room ,the room have four windows so all the time you feel it fresh.the room service were very clean,they change all bedsheets every day ,you feel the clean .....thank you very much you made my holidy very comfort

Main disadvantages: Breakfast was understaffed. Just one poor girl that really had to work hard to make the breakfast work. Just to much for one person to handle, so it was very slow to get extra orders and refill of the buffet. But no shame on the girl, she did a great job.
Main advantages: A really wonderful Hotel. Great Rooms, great atmosphere, fantastic location in the old town. Staff very helpful, proffesional and friendly. Wish I could have stayed longer. Will definatelycome back.

Main disadvantages: I don't have any complaints. The breakfast was great and the breakfast room had great views, but I would recommend going elsewhere for breakfast if you think 22 Euro per person is high - there are plenty of places around for less. We chose to eat breakfast at the hotel for convenience, and did not regret it as there were many choices and it was pleasant.
Main advantages: The staff, hotel location and comfort/cleanliness. The hotel was very luxurious and had great views. The location is the best that you can get- especially for the Christmas markets and events that we were interested in, also for the shopping. I cannot say enough about the hotel staff, they were very helpful and pleasant.

Main disadvantages: Unfortunately our sleep was spoiled by the Irish Pub down the street being open late and very noisy patrons echoing despite closed windows until 4am.

Main advantages: Hotel is situated right in the historical centre, the room was rather big and the main reason for the choosig this hotel was aircondition. historical buiding gives the hotel specal charm, however i would expect more luxurious furnishing and decoration in the 5* hotel...but for the amount of money i payed it was fine....

Main advantages: Good hotel with a great location right on the central pedestrian street. The room service menu was very limited though, and the only thing that struck us as weird was that the suite that our parents took was smaller than our deluxe room. The front desk staff is quite limited in number and takes time to respond to requests such as baggage pickup. Otherwise, a good experience.

Main disadvantages: Night time noise a big problem for room 401. Outer window by bed has a large hole in it that does not appear recent. With noise problem why isn't it repaired - it indicates a lack of concern for a guests sleeping experience. I almost asked to be moved to a quieter room. Would not stay in a room facing the street. Breakfast should be included considering the rates charged.
